Getting tired of taking this fairing off.  Here is the problem:   HID's have been there for awhile.  Today I'm putting on the opener.  The transmitter is attached inside the fairing with double sided tape, everything is wired correctly and works everytime so long as the fairing is off. You can hold the fairing with the HID's connected away and it still works.  Now move the fairing up to the near on position and you might get it to work once than nothing.

Are the ballasts interferring with the transmiter?  I know you guys are smart, so what is the fix?

If your units are digital then you should have no interference from them. Sure a wire is not being stretched when you lift it up to those pain in the ass hooks? Good luck, this is what makes simple jobs suck.

I have no problems with the opener and also have HID's. Check over the manual. It may not be the transmitter, it may be the placement or location of the receiver in the garage.

The transmitter is functioning properly.  If the fairing is unhooked (lights disconnected) it operates perfectly.  The opener was off of my 06 Springer, no  longer have a manual.  I have since moved the transmitter (just for a test) out of the fairing to just under and behind the speedo, still no go.

I have the same setup.  No problems.  I did have to move the garage tramitter over a little as it was blocked by something.  Make sure the electronic part of the garage transmitter faces the outer fairing! @ sided tape on the flat plactic back? Who's HID set are you using or is it stock HD?

Same deal!   Works for me.  My real problem is that I have a 2 car garage and haven't taken the time to program each door differently.  And I have 2 SE's.  Both bikes open and close both doors, at the same time with no problem..... Except when I open only one door, get on my bike pull out and one door opens while the other doors closes .

Like I say, try to move the garage door module as far away from the HID ballast and make certain that the electronics part of the opener faces the front of the bike and the tape is on the flat plastic side.  Good luck!
