I haven't seen any new 4.00" pistons in the SE catalog or on the MoCo website.

With a part number ending in -07, it is safe to say that this is not really a new item.

Does anyone have results in what these improve over stock?

Ride safely,

They are a very nice Wiseco piston
11/1 compression, not what works well on many street motors

here is the box......... :2vrolijk_21:

http://www.hmhd.com/webstore/viewiteminfo.asp?sku=22502-07

Bump torque and horsepower on your 110" Twin Cam powertrain with the addition of high compression pistons. Developed for the 110" Race Kit, these pistons increase compression to 10.5:1. Forged from high strength aluminum, the pistons are precision machined and feature coated skirts for a tight tolerance fit and quieter operation. All EFI models require ECM calibration (priced separately.) For Race Application only.

Fits 07-later Twin Cam models equipped with 4" Big Bore Cyliners.

I was told these are Mahle Pistons not Wiseco.

So was I...  I wonder what they actually are - since I was told this by a MOCO parts counter person - not widely known to be a reliable source of information...

Scott,

Just got home I guess guess I don't need to post now that John said mine where Mahle's.   Ya got it from the horses mouth so to speak already.  Mine were bought 2 years ago so they aren't new to the market.

Sorry for the mix up guys I was confusing these with the 113" HC pistons for the ACR head package.

Do you like the piston swap over having the heads machined down for the bump in compression?

What kind of gains did you see?

I have these pistons in mine and I now get the occasionally sparknock that I never got before. I am careful of what name brand of gas I use but still get it at slower speeds. Maybe there is an adjustment I need to do. :nixweiss:

High Compresion will do that and each year our gas blends gets worse and worse... It won't be long until 9:1 will be routine pinger's.

Does SERT adjust your timing curve? That would solve your pinging I think.

Have you had your bike dyno tuned. If so what were the results?

The Delphi ECU has ION sensing to pull out timing if it detects pinging but the better approach is not to build in too much compression utilize a tight squish and tune it properly to avoid ping in the first place. The Delphi knock control is a power drainer and erratically can pull too much timing at times.

In the map you have currently in the bike are you sure that the knock sensor is turned ON?   If you do a data gather you can capture when the knock sensor is going on just remember the event has already happened when you see it.
