BOYCOTT GASOLINE IMPORTERS
Type: Causes - Protest
Network: Global
Start Time: Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 5:20am
End Time:    Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 12:20pm
Location: The United States Of America
Description:
Boycott Imported gasoline for 4 months and watch how fast gasoline prices will come down and our economy will rebound in that part of the spectrum...Don't play into the price conditioning and economic mind games big business from over sea's plays with you with each day.

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON. Take 5 minutes to read this at least walk away more informed.

Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even have been good for us!

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.
Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?
An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead. The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell.................................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.................... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil......................... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway............. 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco................................... 62,231,000 barrels
And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..........................0 barrels
Conoco........................0 barrels
0ASinclair........................0 barrels
BP / Phillips................. 0 barrels
Hess.............................0 barrels
ARC0.............................0 barrels
Maverick.........................0 barrels
Flying J..........................0 barrels
Valero..........................0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA*.........0 barrels
*Sold at Wal-Mart , gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens..

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have a real impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers With the help of the internet, it's really simple to do. Now, don't wimp out at this point....keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at only ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)....and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!!!!!!!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it...THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE-the entire population of the United States of America !!!!

Again, all you have to do is forward this message to 10 people. How long would that really take you? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people, within one day all 300 MILLION people could theoretically be contacted during the next eight days

After checking on Snopes a few years ago, the finding is:  somebody should do a snopes check on snopes.

Their info is many times biased as well as not factual, and they have an agenda besides. The couple who own/operate Snopes in fact used to flood different places with false stories so they could later debunk them.  Let the reader there beware.

Just because you read something on the internet, even at snopes, does not have much to do with whether or not it is true or not. My opinion as well as many others.

Buying US oil is always a good idea, for a number of reasons beyond just supporting our economy instead of other countries economies.

There used to be an email floating around saying don't trust Snopes and to see correct info at Truth or Fiction website instead. That email was false and this is some interesting comments about both websites :
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/s/snopes.htm

I have seen the gas email before. From what I have seen and read gas boycotts don't work very well since people will buy gas where it's convenient and won't give up driving etc. The gas that is imported would probably be sold wholesale to the other stations when their supply can't keep up with the increased demand. The busy stations would probably increase prices due to increased demands, sort of like what they do during summer vacations and driving increases.
Or the import gas companies could just sell to India or China where car and motorcycle sales are booming. They won't loose money.

Yeah ya'll are right, snopes is wrong on this one, just because the number of barrels is identical to 2005, it could just be coincidence, maybe they bought the exact same amount again.  This is actually the first time I've ever seen this particular boycott post, it's great, whoever came up with the idea is a genius.  Too bad I have to buy gas based on convenience, I do believe there is a Valero in Delaware I could drive to when I need gas, should be 100-150 mile round-trip everytime, no big deal.

I put it in bold so it would be believeable on the internet.....

Valero buys sour oil from Venezuela too and refines it in Aruba.  It is how they got so big....

Chevron pumps lots from Africa, the north slope and the gulf...refines alot in the SF bay area.

Dont matter, Aramco is big, bigger than you think.

But wait, Valero is on the list of can use stations from the new never before seen list shown here that defines how Americans should be spending their hard earned cash.  That couldn't possibly be the case, the originator of this has done all the research and verified every barrel of oil thru the US Department of Energy.

snopes is bullchit - quite a bit of the stuff there are just the IDEAS of the folks who run it. They have opinions and they have an agenda. It's in their "analysis".  Been debunked by folks with more time than me to look into such stuff, also.

People who want to believe stuff like snopes - fine - but don't expect me or a lot of others to just accept it because they said it.  Same reason I do not trust places like mediamatters - their agenda is obvious.

As to the veracity of the email - it is easy enough to decide which brands of gas to buy for whatever reasons you choose.  My point here was not the veracity or lack thereof of the email - it is to take a jab at snopes since I find sites such as snopes to be fallacious & a lousy info source.

As long as consumer's continue to believe in the bogey man (Saudi Arabia) being the cause of spiking fuel prices, and ignore the real cause of the huge price spikes of recent history (speculators), nothing will change.  Just like the rhetoric that indicated the government would re-regulate the system following the financial system collapse (still waiting on that one, aren't we), there was plenty of lip flapping from our government about regulating the energy markets to prevent the bogus price manipulations.  Even the oil companies have complained about the market manipulations, since they can't predict their own costs in a market that doesn't respond to market conditions like supply and demand.  Well, here we are about to enter another season of price gouging that totally ignores supply and demand, and I don't see any controls yet on the jerks on Wall Street that are sticking it to us again.

Rather than boycott Saudi oil (good luck with that), spend your time browbeating your supposed representatives in Congress.

It's true that the largest importer of crude to America is a real threat.  A paramount danger to the American economy and our national wellbeing.  The mix of production and delivery systems makes it practically impossible to boycott an entire geographic region's production.  Just not feasible.  One target at a time, however, would be a more manageable exercise and would allow us as consumers much greater flexibility as we travel through our days.

That being said a more realisitic but still politically and economically persuasive reaction would be to boycott that single leading importer of oil to the United States.  That country from far away with its sandy beaches, another from its region that accepts American soldiers on its soil but isn't proud of doing so, a country that literally looks "down" on the US.  I say it for all to read, we should boycott the oil production of that largest importer to the United States.  For our national wellbeing and as a show of our national will.  It's time we started boycotting Canadian oil!!

(ooops.... when a discussion has bullchit as its foundation you just never know where it'll end up...)

Well, I don't buy CITGO. (Period). I'd rather push the bike. And I think it is smart to avoid M.E. oil, if at all possible.

Having said that, the little article Hoist has posted, is really outdated, and a simple Google search on "The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil" (just one of the sentences) shows you more than 7.500 results.

So what? I'll repeat: Well, I don't buy CITGO. (Period). I'd rather push the bike. And I think it is smart to avoid M.E. oil, if at all possible.

It's the message, not the messenger ;-).

Ride safely,
Louis

Oil exporting countries are in a unique position to benefit from world demand for petroleum products. On the following list, only Russia, Norway and Mexico are not members of OPEC and therefore have limited say in setting oil prices.

Top Ten Oil Exporting Countries
•Saudi Arabia (8.73 million barrels per day)
•Russia (6.67)
•Norway (2.91)
•Iran (2.55)
•Venezuela (2.36)
•United Arab Emirates (2.33)
•Kuwait (2.20)
•Nigeria (2.19)
•Mexico (1.80)
•Algeria (1.68)

 :soapbox:

There is a simple solution to the mid-east holding us at bay with their "black gold".
Stop exporting food to countries whose only export is oil.

How about we start tapping our own reserves and give the finger to all the exporting countries??? Convince me that when we start turning away tankers that the price won't drop to the 70's price.

Who here remembers the gasoline shortages of the 70's? I am just old enough to a) remember having to sit in odd-even lines and other gasoline rationing charades for the first and second shortage and b) remember the pictures of the tankers sitting outside the ports in the New York Bight during the price fixing attempt of the early 80’s.

The first shortage was an embargo - because this country supported Israel in their domestic problems. BTW When OPEC chose to initiate an embargo against only one country, the USA, OPEC decided to raise the oil prices, they raised them nearly 70% to get this, just over $5 a barrel! Eventually, throughout the embargo, oil prices quadrupled, from about $3 a barrel to $12 a barrel.

This all started originally because we supported Israel with billions of $$$ for their civil war.

I find this truly amazing given the fact that just 6 years earlier Israel ATTACKED the United States of America by attacking the USS Liberty with fighter jets and torpedo boats.

Some facts from that "act of war" that was never acted on.
The jets were French Mirage and Mystere fighters.
Israel attacked our ship with rockets (Mirage) followed by strafing runs with cannons and Napalm attacks!
Once disabled, torpedo boats were sent in for the kill.
In all 34 Americans were killed, 171 were wounded.

The Liberty did not sink with 821 rocket and machine holes and a 40' torpedo hole. So Israel machined gunned all the life rafts and then sent in troop helicopters to finish the job.

The thing that saved the Liberty from a certain demise was rescue aircraft arriving.

And then to add insult to injury Israel said Oops, were sorry, we thought you were someone else!
Read it for yourself; "Assault on the Liberty"

The second shortage was caused by another little POS country with no other exports other then oil, Iran.

We are not the only ones suffering, it was reported in November of last year that there were so many tankers off the coast of Britain that you could see them from the shore, all part of price gouging.

Britain and Canada should be the only countries we support with exports, because when the chit hits the fan they are the ones to support us.

How about that when we start tapping our own reserves, maybe the price of food will come down too since we won't need all that extra "corn" to make bio-fuel.

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of
the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask
you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does
the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more
than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this
area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme
eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay,
and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,
we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their
jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in
the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation
known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred to as the
'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and
into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead
end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the
Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion
barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one
should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three
and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than
all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become
independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people
dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this
very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels
untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the
world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just
might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent
this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Dammit Marty, straws and a sippee (sic :nixweiss: ?) cup don't count!  You're below the production quota!!

2Lane,

From U.S. Energy Information Administration.

"The top five sources of US crude oil imports in October 2009 were from Canada 1.858 million barrels per day, Mexico 1,015 MBPD, Saudi Arabia 0.938 MPBD, Venezuela 0.879 MBPD and Nigeria 0.853 MBPD.

Which one of these countries has been an allie of the US in both World Wars, Korea and brief lapse where we did not help out because of a pacifistic Liberal Government and presently in fighting shoulder to shoulder Afghanistan.

You're preaching to the choir Leo.  I was trying to be a sarcastic SOB pointing out that boycotting our evil importers was cutting off our nose to spite our face (and also trying to be even more saracastic in pointing out that trying to make a point from stupid, screwed up, internet drivel viral email information is just f'ing annoying).

Were it not for competitive, reliable, stable, friendly North American relations (including oil imports) the USA would have a much more difficult existence.  Every man, woman and child of us.  No matter how much we may spitball it's a relationship that works well and has for a very long time.

Hell, if it weren't for Canadian reserves the US would probably be kowtowing to the Russians making noises about "strategic partnerships" just to keep on the good side of their energy reserves.  The Europeans have already sniffed the wrong end of that dog.  And the Ukrainians have been slapped by its leash.  Canada is an energy partner and we're damned glad of it.

Just checked.  Case and a half of Mobil 1 in the garage, four quarts of Redline gear oil and six quarts of ATF.  Sadly there is no strategic energy reserve buried in the salt cavern beneath the house.

I still think we should just do even trades, barrel of oil for a bushel of wheat.

If I had to I could ride my bicycle to work, but I doubt the ME could eat any of their crude.
