Anyone install handlebar risers on SE Fatboy?
« on: February 05, 2006, 04:12:39 PM »

Hello,
I'd like to put some small risers on my bike but any hesitant that the factory tach will not have enough wire to move with the handlebars, as well as the remaining wiring in the handlebars.  Anyone already move the bars to a new location?  What problems did you encounter?
I'm thinking a set of 4" pullback risers either from Kuryakyn or HD would give me a real nice cruise ride but I don't want to have to extend all the electrics in the handlebar, etc.
Thanks.

No, but I have looked at possibly installing the HD Bombay bars on my bike,  They are about an inch higher in rise that the stock beach bars and I like th semi drag bar look they provide.

I have not come across any risers to suit 1 1/4 bars.
I had some custom Tee bars made & found there was enough wire also brake & clutch hoses were fine also

cheers

Hey, that looks like my bike.  ;D

Ok, instead of putting the risers, I went and got the Wild1 Chubby 560 Handlebars. Has anyone put these on and kept the tach? If so, what lines did you have to replace?

Dave I've just posted elsewhere about this then saw your thread. I had the dealer fit 4" risers but until they were on they didn't realise the tacho couldn't be used so I'm back where I started. There was no problem with the wiring though so you won'gt have a problem there.. If you have any idea of a kit that will lift the bars using the original tacho and clamps I'd be grateful for the info.
