ALOHA!
« on: March 12, 2006, 10:09:11 AM »

Well, work has sent me to HI for a week...so what is a Harley rider expected to do except leave on Friday so that I could have the weekend for some fun in the sun...OK so it rained in the mountains but it was mostly beautiful along the coastline...so I skipped the interor mountains and stayed on the coast!

Here is my non-CVO but trusty steed, a 2006 FLHRCI, near Mokele'ia:

Getting out of Honolulu is the key, way too much traffic there.

If HOG, do the Fly & Ride thing but call early...I was too late and did the "normal" rental.

I am at the Hilton Hawaiin Village in Waikiki.  Big complex with lots of shopping which is good since I will have to bring something home for the wife.  Oh, there is a HD outlet right here in the Village so i got the requisite Harley Aloha Shirt!

Aloha Cousin,
You are truly an amazing photograher to get this shot so tight you can't see the rest of the Hilton Hawaiian Villiage in the background. LOL Do yourself a favor, jump back on that rented scoot, ride up to Haliewa and have some Huli-huli chicken - - buy a whole chicken and a bottle of good white wine and sit at one of the picnic tables at Waimea and just soak up the vibe, or stop and have some shrimp at one of the shrimp trucks outside of Haliewa or along the North shore past the Pipeline and Sunset Beach ? Looking at your pics made me miss Oahu so bad - - -still much Mahalo for posting them

Bill,

Thanks for the great pics.  Took the family to Kauai and Oahu in 2000 and haven't been back to Maui & the Big Island since honeymoon in '92.  Was thinking of going this summer but, not enough time tween work & kids' activities. Have a safe trip and that's a pretty nice place to have to go to work at.

Sadly Left Hawaii on Thursday Night on the red-eye to Sea-Tac.  Was up in Silverdale, WA on Friday and Saturday...what a rude awakening when I tried to go for a walk in shorts and T-shirt.  Now in San Diego...was going to be here until Friday but may be leaving Tomorrow due to a change in schedule.

What a rude awakening this morning to look out my window and no longer see Palm Trees...

Driving to work looking at brown and barren trees...how depressing.

there is a new issue in HI, I wonder if I will have to go there to oversse the investigation...wishful thinking...

Just put in for an accounting job in Hawaii. The wacky environmentalist extremist insists that the beaches are eroding and the Juno Kakowie sand lizards are becoming extinct due to the lack of privacy at the beaches and are not able to have sex! :o They have been going out into the ocean and end up drowning and washed on the beaches due to exhaustion from this act of reproduction. My job would be to count the grains of sand on the beaches in Hawaii and to try and revive any exhausted lizard laying on the beaches. This job only pays minimum wage but could be very exciting! Wish me luck! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
