More Chrome for my SE2 Fat Boy-need some help finding it
« on: October 12, 2010, 11:34:47 AM »

I have decided to "finish" the chrome work on my FLSTFSE2 this fall and have started getting some of the stuff, chrome inner primary came yesterday, chrome swingarm coming soon. I am having trouble locating a chrome seat post to replace the original painted one and also a stainless, aluminum, or chrome inner rear fender/splashguard. Harley lists a chrrome seat post for 07 and up(dealer says a no go). Harley also lists a flat inner fender to replace the original plastic one, however, I once saw a polished stainless one shaped exactly like the plastic one. I like the shape of the original one but just want it in stainless or polished aluminum. Can't find it to save my life. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, a good chrome plater in the Reading, Pottstown, PA area would be helpful.
Picures forthcoming in the spring! Thanks

I have used other parts on my 06SEFB that say fit 07 and up.Remember that an 07 and up Fatboy is the same setup as an 06SEFB,wide rear tire etc.I put 07 bags on mine that the dealer said wouldn't fit.I would make sure you can return if it doesn't work and try it

Yeah, I ran into the same thing with the chrome swingarm. Dealer said no, a post on this site said yes, so I called Harley direct and spoke with a Tech guy. We somehow got disconnected, but he called me back a couple hours later and said the swingarm will fit my 06FBSE. It is a hassle for sure especially if they do not have the item in stock.
Thanks anyway.

I had my rear inner fender piece made out of S.S. at a fabrication shop and then I polished it out.

Thanks Wishbone,
I likely will do the same thing-Stainless and a good polish rather than metal and chrome.
Thanks

I was looking at Platinum Air Suspension web site and they have a splashguard in chrome as part of a package for suspension. You may be able to buy it out right. Just a thought.
