I want to upgrade the stock speakers on my 09 SERG.
I would appreciate any recommendations.

I recently put in the Hog Tunes Big Ultra kit on my Ultra. With the 4 speakers it made a huge difference, esp with some Dynomat behind the fairing speakers. I also take off the Tour Pak and just have the front speakers.....still made a big difference...can still hear tunes on the highway! The Dynomat sure brought out the mid-range.

.....Just letting him know about my experience with a brand of speaker upgrade/amp on my Ultra.....as well, a few people that I have conversed with, and the two I have heard; the results are amazingly similar on a RG.

Installed Hawg wired amp and two speakers in place of stock speakers in fairing. Works well and has great sound and volume. Looking at the tweeters next or maybe the 6.25 speakers they are coming out with.  I'm happy.

The best speakers I have come across are made by J & M.  Take a look here:  Installing the New J&M 250w Amp. in a CVO Road Glide.

I have the Hawg Wired 150W amp with the speakers that are $250 (can't remember the model #)and with the speaker grills that incorporate the tweeters. I am very pleased, was riding along today at 73 mph and it was a little windy and I had the volume @ 50% and sound was very clear.
But maybe the best part is the thought these people put into the product, Hawg Wired that is. The wires are the correct length, the instructions are great, everything plugs together just amazing thought to detail. Took longer to R&I the RG Fairing than to install speakers/amp etc.
very pleased.

I recently changed my stock speakers out for the J&M "standard" upgrade speakers for the RG.  Not the larger ones that cost $270.  The ones I used have 3 cones with one being the same size as the stock speaker and then two little speakers mounted in the face plate.  Anyway, the improvement in sound quality was major.  And, they look way better.  The won't distort at very high volume either.  So, if you just want an easy relatively inexpensive improvement that's a good way to go.

I recently went with the J&M 7 1/4" Speakers, and could not be happier.  I had the Hawg Wired's in, and can say that I actually like the J&M's much better.  Honestly, the J&M's sound better than my Hawg Wired's with an amp, and for a ton less.  Before I put them in, I definitely thought that Hawg Wired was the best, not now.

Your stereo will sound better pending HOW MUCH $$$ you want

to invest!

Went to the 5 1/2" J & M 3 ways speakers. Big Improvement over

Stock. 6 months later, they come out w/ the new 7 1/2" J & M.

I got a really good deal on a set of these. Like others have posted,

These sound awesome and I am only running the stock HK unit!!!!!

Would an amp make these sound better? I am sure they will. But for

now, I am very happy w/ these just like they are.

That is the route I took with my SERG.  I really like the 7.25 J&M speakers with their amp.  Sounds really good, and will get very loud.  It is clear at 75mph.

I agree with the J & M set up.  Got the amp and speakers from dr.vtwin at a great price.  Don't know if they're still giving
the discount but the answer is just a phone call away.  Good luck
