Who's still in love with their '07?
« on: December 16, 2010, 08:05:47 PM »

Have done very little to my '07 except a SERT to keep the temp cool, the recall, and a King-Queen seat. I still love the beast with it's retro 21-inch front wheel and tribal flames. Plenty of power and tons of good looks. Who bought one new and is still happy with it?

I won my 08 decked out in Inferno Orange and still love it. Just wish it wasn't so cold in NJ now as I miss the riding.

I still love mine, she is taking a lil rest while there is snow around, this bike is a keeper

again not many mods, just the SERT and a lil switch to overide the exhaust emissions control valve

Hi Air Cooled,

I bought my 07 new while i lived in Indiana, I still love her and will keep her as a memory of my time in the US. Modifications are limited to TTS, detachable sisy bar (to keep wife happy) and a swing arm bag. I like the bike as come from the factory!  :bananarock:

Now I am back in Sweden and have not been able to ride since late September. They just said on the news today that this winter has so far been the coldest in 150 years in Sweden!!!  Seems like she will stay in the garage for while.  :(

Yes, got her brand new and will keep forever. Runs so much better and trouble free since the factory put in the 2009 engine.

I still Love My 07 FXSTSSE........knock on wook.....I still have not had any problems.....I think lowering the air/fuel mixture is the main thing in reducing issues.......She still gets a lot of looks ....

I agree with lowering the A/F ratio. I did that the first week after I bought the bike new, and I never had a leak or discoloration of the plaques on the heads.

Had six miles on the clock when I stroked $30,000 on Feb 28, 2007.
Parked it with 30,000 miles on the clock for the winter, and I live in Pennsylvania.
Gas guage lost lowest LED and dual mode auto lighting feature this past year.  Warranty issue in Spring, grabbed the 5 yr extension upon purchase.
You cannot buy the compliments this bike has received most each and every day it is out on the road.  H-D got this bike Right, out of the box.  Why would I want to F#@* that up ?......J

Bought mine new in Melbourne and to this day it is always complimented. I was a jap superbike diehard until owning this Harley,
also being my first and I love the bottom and mid range power. Yep I'm a convert.

Knackers it took all of 20,000 miles to get the low end torque from this engine.  In the begining 6th gear was nearly worthless, had to maintain over @ 3000 rpm's to not lug the engine on level highway. When this bike hit 20,000 I could put it in 6th below 2000 rpm's and pull a steep hill.  This has reduced the need to shift as often, probably 1/3 less.

I did not follow the recomended oil change intervals, I changed all fluids at 2500 intervals. Service put in Syn3 @ 5K, I put in Amzoil 2500 later.

Most of these bikes have taken 10K-15K to break-in, for that low end to come out for bikes with no pipe change or SERT. This applies to all 96's as well.......J
