Primary has ocassional noise
« on: May 22, 2011, 12:41:02 AM »

I have the newer SE compensator that was installed last year.  All has been good but on the last 2 rides I have heard a clanking/clacking noise.
I pulled the primary cover and nothing seem loose.  I did slide the wedge up to clicks to tighten the primary chain.
My other thoughts were warped clutch plates or the washer that gets messed up on the SE compensator if the tech uses a impact???
Any help?
I have the cover still off until I get a few ideas of things to look for.

Thanks

Just a quick update I slid the wedge two clicks forward to tighten the primary chain and all is good :2vrolijk_21:

After I tightened the chain and put it back together I had Redline MTL here and so I used that.  I would say that I will be switching back to HD formula+ for the same reason.
I like the Redline heavy shockproof in the tranny though.
Mobil1 in the engine.
