Paul yaffe 10 inch bars for road glide
« on: February 15, 2012, 05:25:19 PM »

Wondering if anyone has had any problems after installing these bars on their road glide?? Have heard there can be problems due to the install of the wires at such a bent angle.
Let me know...
Thanks,
Troy

I don't know if alot of members here have installed the Yaffee bars but another site I'm on is roadglide.org and there are complete threads of installs, pics, problems, troubleshooting on these bars, lots of good information. :2vrolijk_21:

The wire pull is cruel and can definitely punish the wires. It killed my twist grip sensor and caused me alot of pain and sinful adjectives.  Just make sure you order a ton of patience and test everything before closing up.

Thx Plasmadaddy.  Bars are very comfortable. Also I had plenty of factory wire to reach the controls if you wanted to go w/ 12's.  I would not recommend the Yaffe supersize install kit make your own.  And make sure you get those wires as tight as you can with the shrink wrap tubing use a little silicone spray to help lube the wires threw.  Also I found it easier to pull the wires threw the bottom holes that are near the bottom corners then pull the slack threw then feed the wire back in.

You will likely have enough wire, but I dont think you'll have enough clutch/brake cable.  If you are able to make it work, it'll be stretched to the max.  Mine are 12's and it would have looked like crap had i used the stock length.  In my opinion.

Original wires yes, original cables no.

Also, since you are a 2013, I heard that you will need new risers and/or clamp as the stock Harley bar is 1 1/4" throughout and not "downsized" to 1" where it meets the risers/clamp...better check to make sure.

Also, if going 14" high and 1 1/4" thick, do yourself a favour and get poly bushings! :)

One other thing, I also heard that you will need a special fitting for your clutch cable as they changed the clutch cover on the 2013...your friendly, "knowledgable" Harley dealer should know that (be nice)! ;D

:jack:   2013, You might want to look here in the CVO™ Road Glide Custom® board:  12" Monkey Apes.  Just kiddin' on the jacking but this is the SERG board.  Yours is just a CVO.   ::)   :huepfenlol2:

Wires should work, but 12"s would be about it for the stock clutch and brake, or at least that was about all I could figure out how to make work
