Went to put gas in tooday,noticed on the inside rim after taking off the gas cap a black something peeling. I have not checked it but I am going to wipe it with a paper towel. hope I dint get any in the tank. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I have it too. To me it looks like a rubber coating starting to rip were the o-ring from the cap seals. What is seen now is the metal underneath (i guess). On the HD inspection they are suppost to check the cap. The last time my bike was in for service i pointed this out to them and they told me that it was, OK but those were the same guys that could not fix my stereo ether. The next time i go to the dealer I will be pointing out again.
