Is there one particular service manual that people like better than others? I am getting really frustrated with paying the big $$$ to have my bike serviced when theres not more to it than oil change and checking for the obvious. I do my own service on my GL 1800 Goldwing and have since day one except for air cleaner changing so its not rocket science. I even wondered if there was a service manual on CD. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

just buy the factory manual - the dealers have them, easy to get.

The HD manuals are real good, including the model specific parts books.

For the most part they are far better then what I had when working in new car dealers.

You can't beat the Factory Service manual, Factory Electrical manual and the Factory Parts manual...

Thank the three of you that replied I really appreciate it. Unlike the GL 1800 forum all the answers were very direct yet to the point. there are so many people on the other forums that reply just to see their words in print and feel there doing something! Just completed the oil change and have just under 600 miles before the 15k is actually due so I have plenty of time to get the manual.

Although I am not sure if you really need the standard parts manual, the CVO parts supplement is fairly in depth.
