2015 Mustang What you think?
« on: December 05, 2013, 07:32:24 AM »

The new 2015 Mustang.

http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/2015//

What do you think?
I like it but need to see the motor specs.
Maybe time to add another to the stable next year.

Like is an understatement.......now if I only had the money to grab one & drop one of those twin-turbo Roush 428's in it, I could probably outrun SBB's little white car.

The stance has a Shelby look to it now...meatier, stronger look to the entire car from all angles.  Hard to mistake the interior for anything but Mustang however I like the changes/upgrades from the pictures.  4, 6 and V8 5.0 for motor choices (first 4 cylinder offered in quite a while I believe).  FINALLY, an independent rear suspension....'bout time.
Overall, I like the entire package....Ford done good.  Can't wait to see one in person.... :2vrolijk_21:

Good article in USA Today: http://usat.ly/1bi1k7N

Gonna have a 420+ HP 5.0. :2vrolijk_21:

The Fusion-like grille opening needs to grow on me some.  Otherwise, the car looks great!

Definitely an evolutionary look, I like it. Personally I am getting tired of the retro look. An independent rear has been a long time coming. The Camaro has had it since 2010 and it is a great asset if you live up north with pothole stricken roads. Can't wait to see what they do with the Shelby's! As I work at a Chevy dealership I have driven the ZL1 several times and it is like a liter bike, gets you in over your head faster than you can believe. Kinda like a 200 HP Harley. I imagine Ford is going to step it up some for the top of the line cars soon. The muscle car era has nothing on today's horsepower wars, these cars actually turn and stop! For you old timers, I don't know how you lived through bias ply tires and drum brakes!

That look has grown on me Brian.
Going to take more than 420+ h/p to float my boat though.
I took mine to get it inspected last month and the guy asked, do you know how many miles you drove last year?
Nope I said, 900 he replied.
OOPs, but every one of them were fun.

Great job by Ford. The look is instantly recognizable as a Mustang but it's not at all a copy of the past models. Modern and retro at the same time. My buddy had a 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca with 650 hp supercharged engine. It was the scariest car I have ever driven! But boy was it fun!

Interesting combination of Euro-style and late-60s Mustang.  I like it.  It's a much more cohesive look than the last two generations.

Yes they are, but bits and pieces keep coming to the surface. I guess by late spring more will be known.
What amazes me most is how the current one keeps selling way more then the new Chevy!

Will only sell well in the States, still not a sports car in Europe. Still to unrefined but at least they are aiming globally with this one. (And it is redesigned by an Englishman)

As to the 'stang the view from the front and the side silhouette look great, but to me the rear end just seems to be missing something aesthetically. Maybe to squat looking, like the deck spoiler is too low?? Maybe the rear light panel is angled to far forward??
I would assume that interior quality will probably be heavily dependent on the chosen trim level as has been the case in the past, with lower(base) trim levels tending to have a few more squeaks and rattles than the higher trim like the GT

Overall it looks to be a very nice redesign while maintaining the "mustang" look.

Ever since our first trip down the shore and driving past the Ford plant I've wanted a Mustang. This one just might be the ticket (since I can't get a Vette in the driveway)

I'm guessing Bill drives a Super Duty everyday, the dash is surprisingly similar to the SD pickups.

I love it!  I will be taking mine in Yellow(of course) with a black convertible top and black interior.
GT model with black stripes on hood and front end and on deck lid and back end. 20" wheels and every
available option thank you. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Rear fenders from the back look strangely like the Camaro rear fenders.

IMO This is the best looking Mustang to come from Ford yet.

Yep, these cars the past few year will beat the 60's and very early 70's muscle cars in everything, HP, acceleration, stopping and turning and comfort and mpg.  The ZL1 is the baddest camaro ever made.  I came real close to buying one.  However the C7 base Vette is also the most powerful, quickest, fastest, and most comfortable Base Vette and will out handle the ZO6 of the last few years.  Heck its only a couple tenths off the Z06 in 06 and the quarter mile.

The new Mustang is the only Ford car I like.  I sure do like the looks of the 15 and the independent rear suspension.

The look kind of reminds me of the Infinity coup. If you look at them side by side, you will see the similarity in every body panel. Also kind of looks like the Aston Martin.  I like the new hoped up Camero.

Obviously you didn't drive the Boss 302 or the Shelby.  It wouldn't be fair to compare the base Mustang GT with the Camaro ZL1.  I'd take a Shelby over any Camaro except maybe the new Z/28.

My wife also likes hot rodding. I currently drive a Challenger SRT8. We bought her GT500 (pictured in avatar) new in 2007 when they first came out; she's the only person to ever drive it and calls it her CVO mustang.  She test drove a ZL1 Camaro but said the blind spots were so bad she couldn't see the cars in the lanes next to her unless they were right alongside.  Now she wants to either get the next Shelby (if she likes it) or if she doesn’t, she said maybe a new vette.  I'm hearing Ford is working on some serious Mustangs to be released over the next couple years and am hearing some say a naturally aspirated 600 HP engine might be released with a track package, not sure if it would be called a Shelby, a Boss, or a Mach1?  No doubt that pony car one-upsmanship between Mopar, Chevy and Ford makes them all better for the buying public.

Agree with you on the Challenger and GT500....great automobiles...and as I have already posted, the new Mustang is a looker.  I also agree with your comments on the blind spots on the Camaro.  Not a bad looking vehicle but it's like sitting in a bunker looking out of gun slits to drive the thing.  Rule #3 in the Smith System is "Keep your eyes moving"....that with spades in the Camaro...otherwise, you would be in deep do-do everytime you attempt a lane change.... :)

Renay just bought this 2012 Mustang Pony V6 Premium yesterday!  It has 19,000 miles on it.  Inside and outside look brand new.  We haggled with the salesman and got it for $18,000.  She loves the BLUE color., I would have preferred RED.

I love the look of the new ones. Mustangs are great, my first brand-new car I ever bought was a True Blue '01 GT ... had that thing for 8 yrs, longest I ever kept any vehicle. It also went like a tank in the snow with 15" Blizzaks all the way around. I loved that car and I bet that new 5.0 would feel like I supercharged my old 4.6 I had. I really like that they finally went with IRS instead of a live axle too ... probably feels worlds apart from my old stang.

I'm not fast enough on the draw with the camera on my new cell phone or I would'a had a couple pics of the new 2015 Mustangs running down the Strip in Vegas this past week.  They had manufacture plates, there were 4 of them, all GT's and black.  The magazine/website pictures do look good but this new 'stang looks amazing in person.  By the time I had my camera ready, the light had changed and they were gone.  I didn't want to get the back of them but did wait a bit to see if they would come back by...no luck.
