What year did they start giving Gold keys? The early CVO 's did not have them. Neither do they have anything special other than
what is on the Title and Registration.

My 09 and my 12 CVO's came with the gold key, my 13 did not.  For 15 they started back up with the Gold Key as my SERGU came with one.

My 03 Fatboy, with the 100th package also came with a gold key.

Yes that's right up to 2012 came with the gold key 2013 they didn't and they caught hell for it!

I lost mine in the snow on a ride from Canada to Las Vegas through the high desert, can i order a new one or is it
too bad so sad?

Yes you can!  Look in the Harley catalog, its listed in the maintenance section, you will need your key code and possibly your VIN number, and answer stupid questions when ordering.  Like: Did you steal the bike!
