service in the military, local, or federal gov't
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:00:08 PM »

I've noticed a few references from those who have served in the military or local government.  So I thought I would start this thread.

I'm currently active duty in the Army, Medical Service Corps.  10.5 years.  I've worked in: San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO; Bosnia-Herzegovina; Seoul, Korea; Ft Campbell, KY (NW of Nashville); Kosovo; Lawrence, KS; Ft Stewart, GA; Baghdad, Iraq; and now Atlanta, GA.

Who knows, maybe we've crossed paths before.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Not having served,  I say thank you for your service.  Because of people like you I enjoy the freedoms I have.  I have a son in the air force in Kunsan korea at the moment.

That was 18+ Army. When are we supposed to get tired? I hope soon, then I will have more time for riding and pacifying my OCD.

It's fantastic to see this thread started [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

NAVY:  22 Years Active Duty, and almost 6 years Civil Service.

Thank you to everyone on active duty and those who served, for your service.  I appreciate going to sleep every night knowing we are safe.  There are so many people in the world who can't say the same.

26 years in the Navy (1973-1999).  Senior Chief Radioman. San Diego, Australia, Guam, Seattle, England, Norfolk, VA (USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 Plankowner, COMSUBLANT, and COMCARGRU 8), and Annapolis, MD. Now a Telecommunications Specialist with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Washington, DC.  (Yeah, I'm a Fed).

God bless all of you that have served and are still serving.  Keep the faith, and remember, these colors don't run.
Cheers [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif],
