It's a steam bath in SoFla.  Temp is in the high 80's but the humidity must be about the same.  And you can figure that a thunderstorm is only 30 minutes away at any given time and place.

Summer in the tropics.  What can you do? :nixweiss:

87 degrees.  65% humidity.  12:30 PM.  Actually not too bad for this time of the year here :nixweiss: .

77 and cloudy here right now.  Last week was warm with highs in the low-90s, but the humidity has not been bad yet this year.  Next week is supposed to be sunny and dry with highs in the mid-80s.  That's about as good as it gets and I'm already looking forward to another week of riding to work every day! :2vrolijk_21:

A typical Texas summer again....It's been over a hundred here in north Texas several times already.  I luv this stuff though.  I wouldn't trade for your crappy New York/NE winters for all of the HD MoCo repaired 110 engines in the world :D

Heading out to take the my daughter and her friend wakeboarding on "WaterHawg" later this afternoon.  Finally a chance to justify paying way too much for a boat :2vrolijk_21:

91 degrees here in Oklahoma right now.  Expected to be about 95 degrees today....typical Oklahoma summer (actually maybe a little cooler that usual :)).

As mentioned above, I wouldn't trade for the NE winters.

Western Washington [that's the one on the Pacific Ocean] has been in the mid 80's just this week got back to the 70's. That is really hot for this area and especially in July. Hottest weather is in Augest usually . :drink:

Hot here too (for this area).  It's rare to hit 90 but we've been real close on and off for the past week.  I actually stopped and put a coat on near the end of a 120 mile ride today.  I don't have central air in the house and got home about an hour ago.  It's a little stuffy from the days heat.

What!! :o  Central Air Conditioning is more important than indoor plumbing down here.  We might go with out food, if need be, to have the $$$ to fix the a/c :vrolijk_10:

This stormy weather has turned into a pretty standard occurance around here this summer.  The only good part is my office is on the top floor of a 6 story office building and I have a view of the southwest.  It can be pretty spectacular watching thunderstorms roll in...

It was 95-100 last week with high humidity. Galvanized steel is too hot to touch. Gravel parking lots scald the bottom of your feet through your shoe soles. In my business if you're not very smart you gotta be tough. I'm dumb as a box of rocks.

Hmm - looks like we are going to be suffering extreme heat, humidity, rain, storms, cold, sun, wind, on our trip. Guess we had better come prepared!

Not quite as warm over here at the moment.

I pray the weather Gods are good to you on your trip.  I mean for us, we can go inside and just ignore the weather, but when you fly half way round the world to do a trip, get the bikes set up, the reservations and all the plans in place, it is hard to hide out in a hotel room.  We went out yesterday before 07:00 and did only 30 minutes of chores.  Took an additional 30 minutes to cool off and then get in the shower.  We drove to breakfast in a four wheel vehicle to take advantage of the AC.  It is not horrible, but not great either when we have humidity above 90% and it is not even going to rain.

Rode 200 miles yesterday in the 95 degree heat , man it's just not that fun when it's so hot and humid.

Getting stuck at a stop light was like being over an open BBQ pit !

Ah well such is summer in the south , nothing is forever.

Lucky you. We haven't been allowed to run our sprinklers in the Atlanta area for 1 year now. We've run out of water, yet the idiots in charge just keep approving more and more developments. WTF?!?!?!?!

Hello, is anyone home? Where ya gonna get the effing water from you tax hungry jerks?!?!?!?

Last year we were hoping for rain every day and never got it.
We were not allowed to run the sprinkler system.
This year it's raining every other day and we still can't use the sprinklers.
But everything is so wet we don't need them!

Go figure!

:indian_chief:

We have flooding everywhere.  Someday someone is going to figure out how to capture all this excessive water and get it to where it is needed.  That person will become very wealthy.  Water management is going to become huge in the future.  Especially managing this free stuff falling from the sky... ;)

It always amazed me the people from the Northeast who retire to Arizona or New Mexico and expect to have a green lawn.  Many of them do.  It looks SOOOO out of place.  All of that water comes from rivers that don't reach the ocean anymore.  The ironic part is that the water they are wasting also provides the electricity that allows desert living to be bearable.  My tap water comes from Lake Erie.  The Great Lakes water shed is the largest source of fresh water in the world.  There are efforts to protect it from such ideas as super tankers hauling it away.

Typical balmy summer here in the Bug Infested Jungle State.  Temps in the 90's with enough humidity to make us all water breathers.  But I like it since it means my quest to spread Global Warming is succeeding.  Someday my dream is to surf in Antarctica with a balmy 80 degree breeze pushing me along the waves gracefully.

Dead flat no breeze, so humid the fish don't need to be in the water today.

I wonder how AJ n Linda are doing, I think it is breezy there.

I used to dive the south wall of the cut for tropicals and the boats that used it were big & noisy enough then. I'd hate to be there and have something much bigger go by. Images of getting sucked up into a prop were always with you when they went overhead. :o

That's a rare shot of Boynton for sure.

I'd hate to be out there drifting baits today for sure. It would be a hot one for sure without a breeze.

Did a dive or 2 off Palm Beach.  Current so quick we just steered ourselves.  Group surfaced probably 1/2 mile apart.  Viz was ok but was not used to the fast currents.  BTW - we were the furtherest from the boat & we did not even kick much.

Humidity when charted against temp is not linear.  If the 100 degrees at 40% were cooled to 90 I'd bet the humidity would be around 80%.  Same amount of water in the air.  Either way, hot is hot, I don't care about no "dry heat"

Anything economically feasible that replaces substantial energy is quickly nixed by environmentfolks nuts.  Appears they are much more interested in shrinking the USA economy than any viable energy alternative.

Will expect to see "Save the Sea Lice" license plates in a couple of years and hear about the HORRORS of undersea generators which might cause earthquakes, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions (as Global Warming is claimed to have caused).

That was one of the most dangerous outlets in the area - had some hairy a$$ moments coming and going from that one.  The reefs in Boynton are the best in So Fla...couple of decent wrecks.  Love the Hydro in Boca for wrecks!

That inlet on an East or South East wind is treacherous - especially when the tide is going out.

I used to dive it at night in a 10' inflatable with a 15 HP Johnson...what is the wreck to the south, just north of Delray?  Used to be HUGE jew fish on there, 3-5 at a time.

I have shot some big black grouper off the back side of the ledges - 20-30lbs.  Used to have Grouper, Hog Fish, Cobia and Lobster filling the outside freezer!

Man, I love the diving there.   :-*

Thanks to the DelRay sewage outfall downstream, great fish, I guess they like to eat poop.
We were denied a permit to use our old raw sewage outfall for discharging salty water in to the ocean from new reverse osmosis plant we need to build.  The coastal aquifer in decline and we cannot extracted enough for future need.  They cited the large brain coral that has been there 100 or more years...It seamed to survive all the raw sewage dumped out there for decades but salt water may harm it.....Freakkin idiots.

I am an environemental engineer and cannot figure these enviro nuts out for the life of me...

How is that for lunacy.

dive at night and dive in places most folks never think of - always went out at like 0200 - 0300 after I got done doing fills for my customers going out early the next day.  Always scored my 12 bugs.  I would be up with little sleep from Tuesday until Friday to keep the customers in Air/Nitrox and the $$ flowing!

If you are lucky at the right place and time, you walk right out and scoop em...I was at the Hawaiian hotel and bar when the stated marching right past on the old road bed.  4-6 feet of water 30 feet from shore...I watched form my barstool and mile of the little buggere...I still like my cold water lobstuhs though.

I caught a "walk" twice and that was AMAZING - we were netting and choosing which ones we wanted.  They were everywhere, in every rock, in lines of 20 or more just walking down the sand.  Freakin amazing.

You have me completely mind f'd now wanting to dive!

did the BVI's with the Paxsons back in 98 off their yacht, bugs were ALL that size.

There's a DNR trap dump down there that I've visited before. We just sat out the tide and dove it when it was slack. Man, it looked like a bug condo down there. You could just pick the nice big purdy ones and leave the others for later.

Don't know if it's still there or not.

Are they getting a handle on the fires up country?

Slowly but surely.  For a while there we had over 1200 fires burning in CA!

It was 101 here on Saturday, felt worse on Sunday and about the same today. Did a hotel inspection this morning and by the time I was finished I had sweat dripping down my back. :sweatdrop:

94 degrees here in Oklahoma right now.  Expected to hit 100 today & tomorrow.  Pretty typical for Oklahoma this time of year.
Really could use some rain here.  It is really getting dry and no chance of rain in the near future.

the high registered on my front porch yesterday 8/5/08 was a mere 104.2, and that was in the shade.

Here in Oklahoma, we had a record high for the date (08/05/08) on Tuesday.... I think is was "officially" 106 degrees.  We had seven days straight either at or above 100 degrees.

A cold front came in yesterday and it's only 95 degrees today.  You can really appreciate 95 degrees after dealing with 106.

Well Nige and his group are getting out of the Colorado high country just in time. The high in Denver for Saturday and Sunday is going to be in the upper 60's. I would assume much cooler in the high country!
