Introduction

I have a 1986 FXRD which I bought used in 1987. It has over 100K miles on it and I still drive it to work regularly in the Wisconsin summer. Problem is that I'm having difficulty finding replacement parts for it. I have a rear brake caliper bracket 44205-82 with the pin holes rocked out and I can't find a new one because it's a discontinued part. There is a bracket for a later FXR 44205-87 which I think is still available but I don't know if it will fit the earlier bike. If the 1987 bracket will fit my swing arm and axle, I could attach the later caliper assembly also. Has anybody tried this?

Your technical question may better be answered in the technical topic specific board - Wheels/Tires/Suspension/Brakes than in the introduction board.
