I purchased the switch so they will be able to be controlled independently. I have attached a pic of the harness on the left side of the bike...still confused

As far as I know, 69201109 just works to connect it to the factory installed aux/passing lamps, in order to connect a different switch to have them independently controlled, you need a whole different harness.
