Saddlebag Stands
« on: September 10, 2007, 07:30:59 PM »

Do any of you have, use or know of a saddlebag storage stand. I'm looking to purchase or duplicate something to hold my bags while I'm servicing the bike. Since the bag extensions will be going on I will no longer be able to just put them on a towel.

This company has one. http://www.bagger-parts.com/SaddlebagServiceStand.html

This is simple to make but may not store so easy.

I have the bagger part (teepee type) and for $124 it tends to tip over easily if not careful taking one of the bags and leaving one on stand. I thing Gary (dood) had the more square base that he had good reports about, but I can't lay my fingers on the thread. John

Mike,
The second ones you have displayed above are the ones I use (BagrRests), and we actually get a discount on them (see here- Bagrrest Bag Stands).

I use the bagrests too, and have been very happy with the product.  One bag left on the stand will not tump it over (be sure your bags are EMPTY).  I think d00d was one of the first to use this product and recommended it to me...been using it for over a year now.

I keep reading the same thing, the bag has to be empty. That sucks. I have way to much stuff in my bags to have to empty it each time they come off. I guess I'll be building something to suit MY needs. :)

John, get some little rubber stick on feet at Wal Mart or any hardware store.  Then you don't have to worry what you set them on.

I have the fuzzy part of velcro on all four corners of mine.  You shoulda seen the look on Mrs.We's face at Maggie Valley last fall when I took them off and set 'em on the asphalt parking lot at the Jonathan Creek Inn. :huepfenlol2: :2vrolijk_21:

I remember that now that you mention it.  It was priceless.  I've just got little rubber feet pad stuck on all four corners.  Just any kind of an insulator keep you from having to worrry about where you set the darned things down.
