I use Mcquires gold, it is clay based. Works like a old clay block but it's a thick cream.

Liquid glass. Tried many, but LG seems to bead water the longest. ( as observed on my car ). Have a little test with Glare on one side and LG on the other side of the hood on my car. Both bead about the same length of time, LG maybe a little longer. FWIW.

Go online and look at this stuff.  It's called "smart wax"  We use it in our detail department at my dealership (BMW) and I use it on my bike and all my cars.  They also make a product called RIM.  This stuff is incredible on chrome rims, it repels brake dust and once its applied, all you need to do is rinse off your chrome rims. Great stuff!

Found the link to the products.  Thanks.

I believe their estimates of how many gallons of H2O used per wash is a bit on the high side.  I can wash and rinse my cars using maybe less than 25 gallons.  But I don't leave the hose running while wiping down the car.  I only use about a half cup of vinegar in five gallons of water to wash the car, give it a quick rinse and then apply wax when the time comes.

I also have a clay bar that I use annually to prep for waxing my cars.  I prefer Malm's waxes and polishes.  http://www.malms.com/  They have the best Brazilian Carnuba on the market...per their marketing.  I happen to agree.  A little bit goes a long way.  Darn stuff is expensive, but because it doesn't take a lot, it doesn't hurt quite as much.

I've used Plexus on my motorcycles for years.  The price has doubled recently, so I've been looking for other alternatives.  I used to buy a large container for 9 bucks, now it is selling for over 20 at Road Rider, in San Jose.  It works great, but for that price it has me looking for something else again for the quick detail.  When in a pinch, I'll use McGuire's Ultra Detail.

Nope, just rode South from San Jose with the NorCal group on the way to meet up with the SoCal riders in San Simeon.  This was about 80 miles north of San Simeon.  But thanks anyhow.

For what its worth, I use Meguiar's "ultimate wash and wax" for cleaning and ACE it spray on polish.  Really love that combination.  Two to three times a year I spend the time and apply Turtle Wax after a good washing followed by the ACE it polish  :2vrolijk_21:

I've tried just about every wax/polish product on the market but I like S100 Carnauba Paste Wax the best.  It's easy to use and really makes the paint on my new CVO pop.

I have been using P21S which is a pure 100% carnauba wax for about a year now. It is very expensive ($55 for a 6 oz tub which will probably last for 10 years) but I have never seen a "wetter" look after using before including Glare (which I used for years). It is kinda a pain to use because it is not a liquid or spray on and not something I use after every ride but when you want "to go all in" on your detail every couple of months, I have never seen anything like it. Here is the link

Do you guys use smartwax at the dealership because it's fast and easy or because it does a great job?  What about cost?

...rim wax?  Can't wait for the comment on that...

Very little diffence in any of the quality brands. Watch products that QUALITY body and paint shops use, especially those that do high end cars. Bet you will never find anyone of them using Glare or any of the other boutique products. 3M makes some excellent products, waxes etc, Mothers, Meguiars (Mirror Glaze) make some excellent commerical grade products. Rub it on straight, rub it on in a circle... main thing is to apply it with the correct applicator or mechanical polisher, applicators come in different grades, some even help to "cut" the surface, while others only apply the product and have no cuting capabilites at all, swirls mostly come from incorrect application and with todays advanced products the applicator is mostly the problem, If you don't know what to use call Max at Autogeek.com. He will not steer you wrong and makes his living selling and teaching how to use high end products.

If you have the time and don't mind spending the money ZAINO is the best. I have tried Glare that was the rave on here a few years ago. THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!!!! It takes a little time for the first application but once it's on all you do is a little up keep. Oh and don't wash with dishwashing soap unless you want to reapply anything you have put on your bike!!! Oh and BTW I have a couple of bottles of Glare that I may just part with!!!!
