S100 in the aerosol
« on: November 26, 2006, 10:05:23 PM »

Today I used S100 in an aerosol can. First thing I noticed was that it did not have the semi-acrid odor of the stuff in the spray bottle.  Then when I hosed it off under high pressure (as instructed), a mottled residue was left.  I have never seen this with the spray bottle.  I had to rub the stuff off with polish.  Anyone else had experience with the aerosol.  I'm thinking maybe it's okay, but that it was taking off the last coat of wax I put on.

I used that stuff once a long time ago.  It took me months to get the residue out of every nook and cranny on my scoot.  Seems to be too caustic.  I'll never use it again.

I bought two cans two weeks ago, used a can of it on the wheels of my H-D truck this weekend. What a freakin waste of $10. I always thought S-100 made good products and I saw folks using this stuff in MV, but my apologies to anyone offended by this post; The stuff is pure crap in my book. Absolutely the worst cleaning product I have ever wasted a nickle on.  [smiley=soapbox.gif]

PS
I got me some microfibre cloths though. Nice nice, Spidey likes  :)

I agree Bagger...I used it once and tossed the remainder of the can.

Yup.  Even their detail spray leaves a film.  Looks like..........poopie!  The only S100 product I've used religiously is the engine brightener.  That ended when I bought the melon since that stuff is for black engines.  No more S100 anything for me.

Whew! Glad to hear it was not just some quirk of how I applied it.  I've had good experience with the regular spray bottle, but this aerosol is not just worthless

I've used both the aerosol and the pump spray versions of S100 and found I also preferred the pump spray version.

Agreed, Jerry...I've used the S100 too, but found it expensive to use.

Terry....glad to see I'm not the only one anal enough to clean the undercarriage.  I've found that a 50/50 mixture of Simple Green and water is the best overall cleaner for the tough areas of grease, oil and road grime.  It doesn't effect the polish and leaves no residue.  I figure it ends up costing about 4 bucks for 2 gallons.

Simple Green huh...seems to me there is a bottle of that kicking around the kitchen somewhere.  Never thought to use it on the bike, thanks for the tip.
