so I picked up my 2010 Road Glide and will be getting a Tourpak. My choices are Chopped Tourpak with small backrest pad. Or large Tourpak with the large (winged) backrest pad. Has anyone modified a chopped pad to the large Tourpak box?
I just do not like the look of the large backrest pad.

The chopped backrest can be put on the full size t/p, but the full size t/p will come with holes drilled for the armrest deal, You can either plug them with chrome plugs or go to Home Depot and get some stainless plugs or some steel ones and paint them.
Or best way is to have the holes professionally repaired and painted. If you do some searching there is a picture of a gold SERK on here for sale that has a large t/p with small pad, looks pretty good. If you buy a large t/p the one for a classic looks much better, no rear light bar like the Ultra one.
But in my opinion, no way to make the big pack look good, the chopped one just looks better, more custom.

If possible Jenni can do it! You would need a Chopped Lid and a King Bottom. The King Tour Pak will come drilled for the larger Backrest, it will have a least 4 holes visable holes if you use a small backrest.

you mean like this

Larry: your bike looks amazing. the tp and the lowers really sets it off... fantastic job! love it!

Last year I purchased a new king tourpak lid off ebay to replace a cracked one on my chopped pak. I took it down had it painted. It looked great. When I brought it home to put on, It was just a little larger then the chopped pak. The chopped pak is just what it says, it is chopped-cut off. Unless they have changed since 96 the way they make them- beware and measure before you paint. I ended up repairing my old lid and them selling the king lid, at a loss no less.
