I believe Otis is correct, however the dealers have all had to build such fancy buildings in prominate places that even with the markup, profit has to be low. especially in a down market like today.  I think that is why you see dealerships going out of business, they have borrowed so much they cannot meet their loan covenants.

I bought my oo SE Road Glide new and paid 17, 572 + 600.00 shipping ,invoice was 15, 572 + shipping, MSRP was 22.900 + shipping,   in 01 i bought the black SE Road Glide which i still have MSRP was 24900 to keep the peace between the store owner and my wife which was store controler we all agreed to pay 3k over invoice which was 19.932 plus shipping.
