Leaving in the morning  :huepfenjump3: from Toronto. Down 219. We are going to the site where the plane went down in Pennsylvania on 9/11. Pigion Forge, The Snake and The Dragon. 2 nights in Nashville then down to New Orleans and the french quarters. :bananarock:. From there a bee line to Key West then back home to Toronto. :2vrolijk_21:.

Sounds like fun!   :2vrolijk_21:  Have a great trip, and ride safely.

I plan to ride to the store a few times & buy beer.

Not sure yet how far away that store will be.

Trip planned for 1st part of July, family reunion in KC, then meeting riding buds and heading north towards Thunder Bay, around the lake, then the upper peninsula of Wisconsin, down through Milwaukee, Chi-town, southward back toward Memphis. Can't wait.  :)

Probabbly too late, but maybe you can catch it on the way home.  You must ride Rt 6 in Pennsylvania, great ride and catch the Eastern Grand Canyon too!

Me and 4 other guys are leaving Friday morning the 10th. Taking the backroads and the Blue Ridge Parkway to Lexington, VA where we'll meet up with some friends and spend the night. Saturday morning the entire group will head South on the Blue Ridge until mid-afternoon, where we'll have lunch... when the others head back North, my small group will continue South on the Blue Ridge and spend a couple of days on the Cherohala Skyway, the Dragon, the Foothills Parkway, etc. with no set plans, just ride.

After last years NW US/SW Canada trip, decided on something different this year, leaving late June.

Ferry from England to Holland, north through Germany to Denmark, into Sweden, ferry from Sweden to Finland, through Finland and into Russia. Three days in St Petersburg, then leave Russia and into Estonia.  South through Latvia and Lithuania, into Poland, West across Germany, back into Holland, ferry back to England, then ride home to Scotland.

Jim

How did you aquire the visas for St Petersburgh Jim ? any advice .

It's a real saga, Cyril!   First you have to have "invitation" documents from a hotel/travel agent. Then there's a downloadable form on the Embassy's agents' website. http://ru.vfsglobal.co.uk You fill that in, with lots of detail - parents names, your last three jobs, where you went to college, blah blah. You need to attach a passport photo. If you're going by bike or car, you need to include the (original) V5 for it, provide an itinerary, and a list of who you're travelling with.  If you're self-employed, you also need original bank statements for a three month period showing a minimum balance (I forget how much - the site tells you.)  Then you take/send that to the appropriate place (London or Edinburgh), and pay £75.00 each.  If you've done it all correctly, you get your passport back a week later with the visa, for the exact number of days you have a hotel booked. We got ours back last week.  :)

Are you thinking about going on your bike?

Hi Jim,

just found out for UK or US citizen only visa procedure is much more complicated: the questionnaire for the rest of us is just half as long as  yours  ::)

Yes, ours is a childish response from the Russian government to the UK government not making it easy for Russians to get a UK visa Hans.
