After his announcements on his new plans for HD recently, this is not a surprise.

What would be a surprise is if the company changed direction for the better.

Yep, exploit the HD brand (in other words, merchandising) is the new direction.

HD is sure making Honda motorcycles more appealing. Once again, The Harley Davidson MOTORCYCLE company is not run by a MOTORCYCLE rider.

Makes me wonder what type of CEOs are running the competition. Are they all motorcycle riders?

Y'all have heard "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem".  We will all know what Zeitz is in pretty short order. They have been taking care of other "problems" at H-D. Some with a lower profile. For instance: https://biztimes.com/harley-davidson-coo-michelle-kumbier-leaving-company/

Not sure.  But Honda doesn't need a 400 dollar service every 5000 miles.  Honda doesn't need new lifters before 30K miles.  Honda doesn't need new front brake rotors every 6000 miles.  Mater of fact all the honda glowing owners I know just ride them and replace tires.

Harley really needs to look at Quality and Reliability, both have been going down hill bad since 2009.  I have a 42K motorcycle that my iPhone 11 still and not take or make phone calls, and apple play works sporadically.  This is on a 19 CVO.  Yet phone works fine with an 18 Corvette never had soft ware update, works fine with a 17 F-`50 never had soft ware update, and works fine with a 12 Range rover no software update.  I have call customer service monthly for 7 months, keep being told working on a fix.  Seems to me they are only working on adding google play.  They just care about selling point, to bad if it really doesn't work.

Agree 100%, the lack of quality/reliability (and how HD is handling it) is ultimately going to kill Harley.  The damage is already done.  It is common knowledge among the biker community at this point.  Charging a premium price for an interior product is a great recipe for long-term success (sigh).  The competition is simply making better products at a more attractive price point.
