Hello from Washington State. Your story and mine are very similar and ending up with similar bikes. I've had dirt bikes and street bikes, my last one being a Yamaha V-Max. I was a motor cop and rode the BMW RT'S until last year. I've never owned a Harley before, but when I saw this one, I had to have it. It had 9k on it when I got it a month ago and now I have 10.5k. It has the V&H pipes and a power commander controller that make it loud and fast. I like your seat and I think that I'll add something like that to mine so my wife will be happy. She does not like the little stock one. By any chance do you know where Harley came up with the name "Deuce?" Keep the rubber side down!!
My Grandfather was a State Trooper in MD and was a motor cop too. My wife said the seat is pretty comfortable. We have a little one so most of my riding now a days is solo...unless we have the grandparents on duty...I love the V&H pipes they sound great...
My last (2) bikes a ninja and a RF600. Don't get me wrong I loved them and had a load of fun on them but it is not the same being able to lay back and just ride. Just listen to the engine...and not have to worry about a F
ing Cell Phone. I live on the phone at work...and god I love the silence of that Engine...
Where did the name Deuce come from? I have a book about the history of Harley...but I did not read anything about the Deuce specifically. The Deuce is my all time favorite Harley though and I have had my eye out for a 2003 Screamin Eagle but this is my Bike!
By the way I did pretty much take care of that scratch on the back of the bike. Still think I will have a shop touch it up though. Used Scratch X worked pretty good and then waxed over it a few times...you have to look hard to see it.
Thanks again for the welcomes...glad to be a part!
