Title: 09 Exhaust
Post by: wytlytn on January 05, 2009, 12:16:50 PM
Looking for suggestions for 4" slip ons for my non California 09 CVO "ROAR GLIDE".
It's not roaring with those lame HD OEM pipes.
Also recommends on re tune info would be great.

:welcome_005:  Welcome to the site, wytlytn   :welcome_005:

Congrats on the new SERG.  All CVO's have cats so just slip ons will not help much.  The cat is very restrictive.  New Header Pipes from V&H:  $519.95  Monster Ovals $500 plus...... Install  $$$

On the other hand:  Fullsac cores:  $109 (w/ CVO discount).  McGills core bit:  $26.  Hanging out with a buddy, drilling out the cat, grinding out the stock cores and installing Fullsacs:  Priceless!!   (Less cost of a couple of beers).   There are great instructions posted here.    Result:  Great sound (not too loud but very deep sound), more responsive and cooler engine.  Seems like the best bet, esp. in locations where they enforce the exhaust regs. like here in CA.  Personally, I think the Stock head pipes and mufflers are beautiful.  It's subjective but most aftermarket pipes are smaller and don't look right, esp. from behind.    If you don't want to drill, there are Stock head pipes available on e bay and other places but don't get them from CA (with cat).  It's not really hard to do if you read the directions posted by Jim Kerr.

Add the SERT & Heavy Breather:  Dynojet numbers:  89.07 hp and 109.22 torque.  Whole different experience!

Hi, Im new to the forum.
I also have the 09'SERG CA edition with the cat in the headpipe. where is the thread you talked about for drilling out the headpipes? Also you mentioned the monster ovals, will they fit with the frenched bags? do they hit the wider cross member?

D&D SAYS THEIR MUFFLERS (BOSS SERIES)  WILL FIT THE 09
CVO.

I CAN'T GET ANYONE AT THUNDERHEADER TO GIVE ME INFO ON THE 09 THUNDERCONES (MUFFLER SLIP-ON'S). ANY ONE KNOW IF THEY FIT ON THE 09 CVO?

Oval`s in a half round, i don`t think that would look good. Just my thoughts.

Worse yet... they won't fit in the half-round. They're too wide...
