I have one on order, and not worried about the rock that will hit the non-hardened lens.  It'd take a pretty darn big rock to break through the plastic lens.  Try hitting one with a hammer -- it'll just bounce off.  It'll crack for sure, but that won't leave me stranded anywhere.  If/when I break/crack a lens, I'll buy the hardened replacement.

Finally plugged this on the old 2000 red SERG.  The midnight red predominant on the fairing was (I was hoping) so dark that this gloss black trim would blend in nicely.  Lucked out and it does.  Looks almost paint to match unless you look close or are in very good light.  Startling how one little five minute snap in part can make the entire front of the bike look more modern.

It ain't bad is it Brad?  One other sort-of-benefit was getting to lose that stupid little bitty pilot light up front between the headlights that was part of the Euro-reflector.  No one (including me) had any idea what good that dinky little bulb did.  No the bulb is gone and the socket is covered up.

The non-harden lenses will not only crack, BUT will scratch with normal cleaning.
The scratches will be so bad that the lense will look fogged.

Time will tell . . .

Nothing dramatic about that.  Nor unexpected.  Good coats of wax to help.  Light buffing compound/polishing work if they get a little foggy.  Replace them with hardened someday when/if they actually break.  No big deal.

Thanks Altug.  Sometimes it is the simple little things that are the nicest.  Subtle can be good.  And it's a heluva cheaper than powder coating and diamond cutting engine parts :bananarock: !

Twolane.
So how is the bezel holding up on the triple red? Any issues? Looks great and my clear lens is fogged so rather than replacing it I want to go with your application. Any updates? Thanks, Jayray
