Thanks sreamin! I see you have a larger passenger back rest on it also, did you just change the pad or did you have to buy a new backrest?  that rack looks like chit to me sorry, I think MOCO could have done a better job .  Thanks Doc

Just replaced the pad on the backrest. Very easy. I ended up buying a detachable t.p. rack and using soft luggage until my t. p. arrives. Looked like chit too but it came off once I got where I was going. New t. p. should be here in a couple of weeks. Wish H. D. had come up w/ a better looking rack.  Attached is the t. p. rack sans t. pak.

Do you have a picture of the tour pack rack?

Nope.  I like the looks of the Air Wing Rack on mine.  Gotten quite a few compliments on it saying it goes with the style of the bike.

I think I like the tp rack better.  Looks hefty, put a T-bag on it and roll and like you said it comes off when you get there.  Thanks, Let's Roll

Haven't looked, but probably cheaper too!  They're proud of the other rack.

screamin,  what is the part # on that backrest pad. the woman hated the stock backrest pad but when i went to harley shop they said the short pad was the only one that would fit short upright. got it, but its so thin that she hates it too. only about an inch thick and not much bigger. yours looks like one of the ones for the standard upright.

Don't know the part number but it's the same as what came on an '00 SERG. Nothing deluxe about it. Approx. 11" w x 8 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" thick. Perhaps someone w/ an '00 parts manual will chime in. BTW, it fit just fine w/ minimal fuss.

My local dealer wanted $212 for the rack plus $173 for the docking station yesterday. I'll wait until the bolt on type come out for around $120 this spring, I'll only need it a couple times a year...

FWIW there's numerous 20% off dealers out there:

Chicago, Zanotties, Tri - County and Lake Shore to name a few.
