I have been in touch with 2 dealers about changing my handlebars from stock to heritage. One of them says that they will not fit on the 09 CVO RG. Has anyone changed their bars, will they fit??

They will fit but will need the right bar end notched for the twist grip sensor.

As the heritage bars are basically whats on a '12 CVO RG (except in black) they shouldnt be an issue.

just make sure its notched for the twist grip sensor

Oh... BTW.. 2012 is a 1" bar and 2013 is a 1.25" bar

the 2013 you wont need the clamp.

Greetings,

There is a late model Heritage bar with the proper twist grip end.  The problem is that the bar will need to be drilled for the switch wiring and a lot of shops will not drill handlebars for liability reasons.  They do fit without changing lines but they are stainless and not chrome.

I think that I just gave up. The local dealer went to the book and read the small print. The bars sold by HD will not fit my bike. He suggested that the problem is the master cylinder for the clutch. Next chance I get I'm getting after market bars & wiring them outside.   Thanks again  Ride safe   Tom

Take a look at BR's Custom Bars website he's in upstate NY and will custom make them to your dimensions!!     David H.
