Title: Solo Seat Rear Fender Trim Suggestions
Post by: hdnik on April 14, 2014, 04:34:55 PM
I have a nice Danny Gray solo seat but I'm not a fan of the Rear Fender Bib. It's been off the bike for a while but got the Mrs. A new trike so I suppose we wont be 2Up much anymore.

Anyway I have 10 Yaffe MBB's on order and want to put the solo back on without the bib but the fender needs something... I kinda like the Trim Strips on the 2012 FLHXSE3. Any suggestions on what I can do to replicate that... or are they available from HD

I don't think they are restricted, bet you can get them.  I personally would go with nothing, it looks better and is easier to clean/polish.

I went with a Danny Gray Speed Cradle and thought the same. Sent the seat out to Texas to Roberti Customs and had him add the Screamin' Eagle on it. Just what it needed!

I think I need those docking hardware covers. HD show 2 part numbers for them... 48035-09  and 48220-10 (described as "large")

Any one know what the difference is and which ones I need?

Not only is it about the best looking thing you can do with the rear fender with a solo seat, it's also about the most functional...best bang for the buck.  This rack really does keep all the crap off of your paint wether it's just your leather that you have strapped on it or all the modifications for your new SESG......   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=40248.msg620121#msg620121

Ordered a new Corbin Classic Solo with back rest. Haven't had the Danny Grey on for a couple seasons and finding now I'm getting a numb bumm within 45 minutes ride time. Strange, because it was never like that... That I remember anyway. Now that momma has her own new ride I want the solo to go with the MBB's being installed.

Here's the seat and the current status of the bars...

Looking good boys! Happy to say my bike has never been more comfortable to ride. With the addition of the 10" MBB's and Corbin Solo Classic, which BTW is seat number 4 for this ride, I have finally found the right combo.
