No speaker should ever be purchased from HD. They are junk and the originals will probably start blowing just after 2 year warranty is up, if not before.

RG's have been the red headed step child of HD for YEARS...……. Now that they are popular they are finally getting some better attention from HD. When I bought my first RG in 2009 they were not very popular and I had to order mine and it took 4 weeks to get it.

My first CVO and my first RG was my 2009 CVO Road glide.  Not popular then, but that was the bike that started the stretch bags, and nice rear fender treatment.

Totally agreed and it is what TURNED ME onto CVO's. I Jones'd for one for a long time.

So my '16 had Boom1 in it. Is upgrading to Boom2 worth it ? Does anything need reflashed ?

Did it on my '16 RG CVO, not worth the $2K, better off with after market for the money honestly.

Never ever buy HD audio parts. But if you insist on it there is plenty of used ones out there. And yes you will need a flash.
