Post by: CVOJIMMYC on March 04, 2015, 12:54:01 PM

since there will be a 2015.5 cvo street glide released late in May/ June so close to 2016 release ... my feelings are there will be some nice changes to the 2016 model year ...maybe a 120 ST engine at least ...

We would all like to know what Harley will do for 2016, But Harley Davidson are very secretive about there new year releases. As an employee of HD if you spill the beans you will loose your job. No one will talk so we will just wait and see. Why would HD fit the 120 engine in the CVO? they don't need to, that is years away. We have Rushmore just be happy, i recon all you will get is new paint, wheels and a bit of chrome treatment satin or black.  What else can they do?  :nixweiss: Reverse gear  ;) if they get any heaver we will need it.

That's what I'm thinking and hoping for. Hopefully the radio works like it suppose to, special trick paint (tribal paint with skulls would be nice) that is acceptable and the nice 120s motor. Just hope they don't go up another $4,000 more from the last time I bought one, or it might be my last one!

They just put in a twin cooled 110" this year....they won't change anything for a while.  It will be a new paint scheme...probably more subdued.

Earliest you will know is the week of the dealer show. I also doubt the 120 will make an appearance this soon. The stereo issues when resolved will likely be software updates, so all of us will benefit from that. I enjoy my 15 & think people tend to expect too much when new equipment comes out. No matter how much you test, the only real test is long term real world use.
For what has been improved my biggest complaint is the paint issues. That is completely preventable. Quality control was not followed by either company. Had HD done their part we as owners wouldn't have known about it. Just plain pathetic.

If a 120r goes in the 2016.....I wonder what the first reliable year might be?

The 120R has been around for many years. Several of my buddies have them with ZERO problems, as a matter of fact, I've got one friend who has a Fat Boy with the 120R with over 40K miles on it and he hasn't done a thing other than routine maintenance. If Harley did decide to go bigger with the engines it's probably going to be something a little tamer like the 120ST.

I have around 18000 miles on my 120r with zero issues to the motor and I run it very hard. Only get around 5000 miles per rear tire. Not only does it run great when running it hard, it runs great even under "parade" conditions (not that I have ever been in a parade, just an example).
Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

Just put a deposit on a 2015 FLHXSE ALL BLACK WITH ONLY SLIGHT SILVER GHOST FLAMES... Harley snuck this one in as far as we have heard. None of the Harley dealers knew it was coming... supposedly? Our dealer didn't know about it until it went on the floor... It's definitely new to me and I thought I knew about all the colors...
Trading in my 2011 FLXHSE2 orange/black 22,000. miles...

Looks like they played it safe with the colour, not sure it's for me though, I like my Hot Citrus SG over all the 2015 colours. If I had to choose it would be the larva.

I'm torn I just put a deposit on a 2015 SG CVO but all this talk about 2016 CVOs has me thinking I should wait until Sep...

Then again I'm in Brooklyn so I do that and I pretty much miss Sturgis and my season will have a month or two left and it's gone.

When you see this bike in the sunlight I think you may eat your words...everyone who has talked bad about the MO CO on this paint and may eat their words too. Although I have to admit I thought the same thing at first... I said what was Harley thinking? Then we put her outside... WOW.. what a beautiful paint job... My husband is a painter and even he said he has never seen this before... its gorgeous! I didn't have to (couldn't) wait until the weekend... I went and picked her up last night... the ride and the boom stereo are unbelievable... the 49mm forks added a lot of handling..... I could ramble for hours about my new bike but I have to go pay for her (work)...lol I ll be back later to ramble. :D

What color did you leave a deposit on? I've been waiting now over six months for my Hard Candy to come in.

I'm thinking that I'm gonna wait for the 2016s rumor is strong that they will ship with 120 ST engines... Street legal and the 110 has been in the CVOs for 9 years that's way too long already.

I just hope they make a Street Glide CVO and don't skip it for 2016

Dealers received a notice that the 120 engine comes with a one year warranty i stead of the standard two.

This could mean that the 120 st is not ready for deployment into the 2016s

Different colors, same flame graphics, TPMS (nice). How about adding heated grips and a passenger backrest as standard MOCO--it is a touring bike with a $36,300 plus price tag.

Now we'll wait to hear if new owners rehash some of the '15 flaws, starting with a stereo system that continuously blows out speakers---multiple times on my '15.

Hopefully there won't be a repeat of the paint issues, as the 3 main features/selling points are supposed to be stereo-paint-engine.

And still no communication port for the passenger, all this techno but still cant talk with the wife and use the fancy factory sound system. Sucks  :nixweiss:
