Pics of SESG with Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather Intake
« on: February 26, 2010, 04:17:52 PM »

Anyone have one of these on?  I'd love to see it on a Spiced Rum but any of the 2010's would do.  Thanks in advance.

I thought I was going to get this done for you today, bought the heavy breather 3 weeks ago even double checked if it would fit my spiced rum..... Sure enough the breather bolts that fasten the backplate to the engine on the 2010 CVO will not work with the heavy breather. You will need to make another trip to your dealer and in my case order part # (29465-08) they did not have these in stock will be Thursday March 4 before they get here.Sorry no pic until Friday at the earliest.

Did you get the heavy breather that works lowers, or will you not be ever installing lowers?

I am not interested in lowers, but for those who are... HD P/N 28716-10 "Fits '08-later Touring models equipped with Fairing Lower Glove Boxes. Street legal when used with Original Equipment throttle body"

As for Slip-ons I went for Klock Werks Revolver Platinum Series/VH Dresser Duals. Chose this pairing based on sound and clean appearance. I'm not a big fan of the Power Dual look... though I understand I sacrifice a little torque, the the true dual looks cleaner to me and IMO add to a bit of a nastier tone... the cross over must mellow things out somehow... Add to that when I asked my favourite Harley Tech what set up he'd recommended he asked me if I have every heard of Klock Werks Revolvers and mentioned he'd installed them with V-H Dresser Duals in the past and he really liked them.... well that was too much of a co-incidence so... thats was that!

Oh and BTW, i used the SEPST. For now a used just one of the preloaded maps, but will have it dyno tuned after break in. Bought the software, cable and Training DVD... simple process... but I had my Dealer do it all before i get the bike anyway.

In order to counter the extra Db of the exhaust I opted for the Hawg Wired 120W Direct Connect Amp and Speakers... Big difference very much worth the $$$; and added a HD garage Door opener, Mirror Trim and Klock Werks Flare windshield while fairing was off.

Also had all the visibal stainless bolts replaced with chrome hardware (Trans, Primary, Push Rod Tube base and Cam Cover) and have assorted other chrome bits like Rocker Bolt covers, Head Bolt Covers, Dash trim and speaker trim, seat bolt, etc. etc.

Finally for now I'm having the Canadian amber signals and red tail light re-fitted with the USA Smoked Gray lamps and Smoke Grey Kury Low Profile LED Tail Lamp along with Kury Curved License Plate Setup... all to try and clean up what the Canadian Government has done to the rump of this bike.

Will post pics when I get it home this week... then I'm sure I'll find something else on this darn site that will cost me more money. Amazing how this stuff adds up eh?

HDNIK.....with all the mods that you're having done, you should have started your own thread.  That way others could go back and find what they're looking for, in the future.  Not to help you spend your money, but in the interest of just helping a brother, here are some mods you may be interested in..... :huepfenlol2:                       http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=40248.0

OH NO... YOU AGAIN!

I got pointed to your mods link a few months ago! I'm still getting professional help. My doctor called it H.M.E.D. (Hog Mod Envy Disorder). While there is no known cure, the only therapy includes a Genuine Motor Parts catalogue, a Notebook computer with wireles internet access, a paypal and an ebay account. Then you just hope for the best!

Actually I have been acumulating parts since my wife ordered my bike for me in Sept. (50th Birthday Gift) The thought was to start a thread an take pics of all the mods in process. That all changed when the thing landed about 10 days ago and my trusted Harley tech suggested he add some of the stuff for me while he was PDI'ing the bike. One thing led to another and he's pretty much done it all for me... hence no pics to speak of and no thread.

Frankly the mods are all off the shelf items anyway and were only purchased in the interest of quality mental health care.  :wall:

Thanks RD!!!!   Looks great.  Might need to chrome that black piece???

Easyrider--I got the Fullsac header and slip on baffle kit coming and Steve said the HD breather was worth a couple of HP on the 110 and was a better set up than the stock CVO cleaner which he felt was a good intake to begin with.

Highmark...thanks for your input.  That makes sense in what you said.  A dealership was trying to tell me the stock cvo air cleaner was comparable in  non breathing ability to a stock non cvo air cleaner. I was scratching my head on that one.

Yes I agree. I tried to buy a chrome one before I installed it, dealer told me not available. Well I couldn't wait to ride it so I will have to remove it later and send it off. Who does the best job with the shiny stuff ??? I have always bought everything already done.

It's there to cover the wiring for the electronic throttle controller.  It's ugly, but not as ugly as seeing the wires behind it all the time.  You could always have it chromed before you put it on.

The Klock Werks look great, I looked at them hard and decided to go with the V&H HO Slip Ons, I hope they look as good as yours.

MJ,
I forgot to answer the second question in your post.  Yes, you can ride with the rain sock on or off without supposedly and noticeable depreciation in air intake.  When I had the heavy breather on my 08 SG I rode with the sock off, but always kept it in the saddle bag just in case I got caught in a heavy rain.  I do the same with the SESG's rain sock, it stays in the saddle bag until needed. I like the looks of the breather without the sock on.
