2015 RG CVO New owner
« on: February 15, 2016, 10:29:31 AM »

Hello All,

Just purchased a new 2015 RG, and drove it back from Denver to Austin (they have 2 red left at a great price) and have questions about some changes for my riding comfort and my size (195lbs, 32 inseam, and 5'11")

I have the highway bar pegs, floorboard, extended brake, and shiftier pegs taken care of (heel shift unusable, had to use the toe shift).

Handle bars are to far forward, I wonder how much they can be moved forward (I have the 1.25 Wildone 575 on my 04).

While the seat is very comfortable it sits to high and to wide making me sit to high in the seat. What have folks switched to?
I have the Corbin on my 04 CVO and it still is in great shape. The tour pack wrap around is very standard and not as padded as the stock.

Performance is taken care of (fullsac DX crossovers, headpipes and TTS).

Still on the fence with the windshield, I like the stock height but need the advantages of the recurve. I have the Clearview and Freedom on my 04 CVO.

Thanks !
RR

Firstly,  congratulations on the new ride!   :2vrolijk_21:

Secondly,    :worthless:

Since your questions have to do with ergonomics, it would be helpful to know your dimensions, height, instant,  etc.  Your handlebars can be rotated forward or back and the pins restricting that movement can be pulled.  There are plenty of seat and windshield options and you might want to do some reading here to see what guys have gone with.  Enjoy!

As stated bars can be moved forward or back by removing pin.  Did that but I still did not like grip angle so I put Factory 47, 14" apes on mine and love it.  As for seat I run a corbin solo with rider back rest that I had on my 12 SERG.

Sitting a little lower in the seat I can run the Klock Werks 14" sport which was to on the stock seat.  Run my tour pac in the solo position

This picture shows the bars, the seat and the windshield.

Thanks all for your comments.

Would anyone have a photo of the Softbrake +1 W extended brake lever?

Trying to decide between the softbrake and ezbrake (have the ezbrake and shifter on my 04 cvo).

I to like to rest my heel and toe on the floorboard/highway peg and am worried about brake pedal contact as in a previous post.

Cheers!

Did you have problems finding bars for the CVO's ? Most I've seen don't fit ours with heated grips. Dave, how tall are you, how much pullback on your bars ? flhman

Heated grips are not as much an issue as getting bars for the Hydraulic Clutch.  I have Paul Yaffee Monkey bars, 14" on my CVO King.  Had to special order for the hydraulic clutch and heated grips.

Was going to get Paul Yaffee again for the 15 SERGU.  However after 6 months of hearing they will be ready next month I canceled that order.  Whats on my SERGU are Factory 47 14" bars.  Just had to let them know they were for the CVO with hydraulic clutch and heated grips.

I'm 6 foot with a 35" inseam.  Not sure on the pull back.  I really like the bars.  I just over 28K miles with those bars on the bike.  I have done several 780 mile days with them.

Beautiful bike, and it looks more comfortable than my Lazy Boy.

Hey, Roadrunner...congrats on the new RGU.
I added a Freedom Shields 15" and have been very happy with it.  Also moved the floorboards out using 3/4" extenders, and added a different foot brake lever.  I too, felt like the handlebars were too much of a reach, but i rotated them upwards about 1/8" or less, which translated to a fair amount of movement at the grips.  Am much happier now.
Cheers,
