The 660 is the third Garmin that I've owned and it is by far the most motorcycle friendly GPS that I've ever owned.
One neat feature is it displays a small speed limit sign on the map. It's amazing how accurate it is! When you are in a 55 zone and pass a 45 speed limit sign the speed limit sign on the gps changes within a few feet of the road sign.
It also has a fuel gauge. You program in how many miles you get on a tank and when you want the low fuel warning to come on. Set mine at 160/20 miles. When I get down to 20 miles a gas pump icon displays on the screen. Tap on the icon and it list the nearest gas stations. Tap on the gas station that you want to go to and it loads that route.
First time I've ever had an MP3 player! It's nice not having to change CD's!
Haven't gotten around to using the bluetooth. Planning on setting that up tonight to use on our trip this week.

Didn't know about all those convenient bells and whistles. Had been considering one because the bluetooth was finally stereo. Just checked Garmin's website for a comparison page and there are lots of nice additions to its function. Thanks for pointing it out.
Is the mount you're using supplied with the unit or aftermarket? If not OE whose is it?

Way cool! I just ordered the 660 yesterday, along with the techmount chrome mount.
Any tips/advice on the install?
Where did you connect for power?

The mount (cradle/harness) that the GPS snaps into came with the 660.
The clamp and arm that came with the 660 are cheesy looking! The clamp, arm and balls that I used came from Cycoactive. Here's a list of part numbers and a link.

Tommy thanks for the pics and report. I'd be interested on your take of the Lane Assist feature in the 660. I've had trouble in major metro areas on roads w/several roads running together and the GPS is telling me to keep straight, but keeping straight is not always the road you want to be on. Let me know how well this works and if you find it a useful feature. TIA

Very easy install! You will need to buy a 1/8"(3.5mm) stereo audio patch cable. One with a 90 degree end works best. Three feet long or longer.
1. Install the mount system and cradle/harness.
2. Remove outer front fairing, loosen the two screws that hold the switch panel (next to ignition switch) in place. pull the panel away from the handle bars.
3. Run the cradle harness down the left handle bar and into the fairing.
4. Run the USB cable end back out of the fairing at the left bar. Let it hang out about 1".
5. Connect the stereo audio patch cable to the audio out plug (the bigger one) on the Garmin cradle harness. Run the patch cable to the opening between the right handle bar, inner fairing and right side of switch panel. Plug it into the auxilary plug on the front of the radio. See attached pic.
6. I connected my power and ground to two unused terminals on the bike harness just left of the headlight. The positive terminal is only hot in the on and accessory position.
7. Put the fairing and switch panel back on and you're done!

Haven't paid much attention to lane assist. I'll be going through Atlanta tomorrow on a week long trip, I'll check it out then and report back. I have read that it does not work at all intersections.

Just got the 660 today...after reading the small printed manual and scanning the online manual, what is the USB cable on the Motorcycle mount cable used for? Is it for add on accessories/modules for traffic or an antenna? Could not find anything quickly.
Is the mic in cable needed either?
