Have vanity plate "SERG" on the way.  I tried to get "CVO 95" to match the "CVO 103" on the blue bike, but it was already taken. >:(

Brian,  Beautiful SERG you have there.  Looks even better next to the SEEG.  I missed something though.  Can't find the thread in which you were originally telling us about the SERG.  Wondering if you updated us on the negotiation process.  Did you, and if so, can you point me to the thread?  Thx.

You really ought to find that thread Henry.  It was a great story.  He marched in there with a pugil stick of a chip on his shoulder.  Told the dealer they were losing money every damn day that POS bike was just darkening his sales floor and to get real and sale the damn thing right now.  Apparently the dealer even cried; like a little girl.  Just fell to his knees and said "yes sir, thank you sir, would you like another sir" and then unbottoned his shirt collar a little only to let be seen a spiked leather collar beneath it.  :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

Brian,
Congrats again they look great together. :2vrolijk_21: You know now that you own a B/O bike you will be held to high standards of detailing. Not to discredit your abilities as they are now, but you must know when you own a B/O or O/B scooter the bar is raised just a little bit more. ;D

I put about 110 miles on the bike putting around with the wife this afternoon.  Um, does anybody want a nice, used SEEG? :nixweiss:  Well, just kidding, but this bike (the SERG) is reallllllly a sweet ride!  Runs pretty good for a stock bike, handles GREAT, and looks amazing!  I need to get a Clearview shield on it really bad once I decide what height, but I really think besides that, grips (see below) and a good cleaning, I am going to try to leave this bike alone and limit the mods to the SEEG.

A couple things I don't really care for . . . . . d@mn cable-operated clutch is one.  Coming off of an '02 Electra Glide Classic, I immediately fell in love with the hydraulic clutch on the SEEG when I got it 4 years ago next month, and now riding a bike without it feels prehistoric.  There is absolutely no feel to the thing whatsoever.  Also, I am really spoiled with the Brembos on the SEEG.  These stock Harley calipers pretty much suck, IMHO.  And last (albeit minor) thing is the "chrome and rubber" grips the SERGs come with.  My hands hate 'em!  I will have to do Kury Iso Grips or some other style of H-D grip to get ride of the hard, and uncomfortable things that are on there now.

The detailing excercise is going to begin this evening.  Unfortunately, I have to work for a few hours tomorrow morning, but then plan to hit it again in the afternoon.  I got a little head start while waiting for momma to get around this morning, and I think this bike is going to clean up real well! :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks again for all the compliments! :beerchug:

Really, really, nice bike, Brian.  Glad you were able to come to tems with the purchase.  WHEN you change out the handlebars, you can do the grips, clutch, and other trinkets that go inside and outside the bars then... ;) ;D.

How does it feel with the fairing not moving with the bars when you turn...took a little getting used to for me on the Ducati, but really liked it once used to it.

Nice bike...slap some Glare on it, and it'll be putting our eyes out!!  Congratulations!!

Terry, I rode Kawasaki Concours' for several years prior to switching to the Harleys.  They had a frame mounted fairing, so if feels sorta like that, though it does take some getting used to coming from the Electra Glide.  I like that the two bikes have a different feel, though.  It will keep me interested in riding both that way.

As for the Glare . . . . that stuff is the CHIT on the black AND the orange! :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry, Dave . . . . lots of replies popping in here all of a sudden.  Unfortunately, MV is out for me this year, even as just a participant.  Like I was telling Chip in Hot Springs, though, I had been seriously considering the idea of doing an MV08 when he volunteered. ;D  So, looks like I'm in the clear for next year, too, but I do hope to be able to attend that one.  Not sure what JR's thinking is on either event, though. :nixweiss:

Have to tell you that the bar you set with your past events will be hard for ANY of us to meet.
With that thought in mind I respectfully would bow out if you wanted to do this event. I would be your gopher for any task you didn't want to tackle if that would help. YOU are the CVO event planner in my book and I think you should consider taking this. Don't answer now, we have plenty of time.

Seriously, though, I think it's a little too early to start the planning.  Let's see how things go with next month's event.  Also, VAZHOG and Lynette are talking about doing something up their way next year.  Folks only have so much vacation, ya know?!  Who knows, there may not be a need for an MV08. :shocked2: :nixweiss:

That's one thing that made me get the V instead of the SEEG I was looking at at the time....two completely different feelings riding either bike, but both are great.  I have always liked the Eagle on the fairing of the SERG's.  The Glare made the red on the Duc as red as a foxes a$$, so that orange on the SERG should really show well after you get it all detailed out.  Looking forward to seeing the bike in person... :2vrolijk_21:

That friggin' GLARE is the schizzle.  WOW!  I want to put it on the ton truck, but don't have the two days it would take to do it.  Maybe this winter.  Bet it's gonna make that O/B SERG sparkle.  Can't wait to see it.

Thanks, Bubba!  I'm really liking this bike already.  I gave it good washing today and got maybe a third of it Glared and it is cleaning up better than I thought it would.

There's like one twisty road where we live now (yeah, really, just one) and I ran it up and down that sucker a half dozen times today.  The thing handles great . . . big difference in the way the front-end feels without the weight of the fairing on the handlebars.  I'm thinking this bike will definitely be my mountain carving unit going forward.

Yeah, the '04 will probably get neglected for awhile here, but she's all cleaned up and on the Battery Tender, so she'll be ready to go whenever you want to come the 600 miles to my house and ride that one (really, seriously, just one) road with me. ;D :D :P

With the Sedona trip being planned for early in 08 and a MV planned for later on in 08 I don't know if the CVO clan can support a VA plan as well.    :nixweiss:  Maybe.  For us, being in our back yard, won't matter much but I think any other BIG CVO plans are already getting pushed to 09.

Yes, unfortunately we all only have so much time and money for travel.

Ahhhh! To win that million dollar lottery right about now, would come in pretty handy, for sure.

Congrats on the new addition, she is a fine one. With all the new problems on the 07's and now 08's good idea to go back and pic up one of the older eagles that didn't have any problems accept that they still need to be enjoyed on the road instead of sitting lonely.

Very nice pick on your new scooter. ;D  I love the paint scheme. The eagle makes her look fast parked. :o  Heck of a thing having to flip a coin on which eagle to fly.

I've dealt with Andrea's too. I could never get em to budge. I've heard their shop knows what their doing tho. Had to travel to Decatur for my 08. Saved $3000.00.   ;D

Many great miles on her ;)

Hey, with the CVO-crazy folks on this site, you never know who's gonna be stopping by!  Coming home from work today, I pull into the subdivision and see an Electra Glide headed my way.  I'm thinkin', "Who is that?  No one else in here rides!?"  So, the closer I get I can finally see the swooshes on the fairing.  "That's a CVO," I think to myself!  By the time the rider is next to me, I can see it is "reo" who came by to see the SERG!  Great to see you again, Roy! :2vrolijk_21:

Too nice of a day to stay home, so I thought I'll just take a 140 mile ride and see if Brian is home. Heck I figured he wont be riding the seeg now that he has his new bike and the windshield is too low for him to be riding any distance and guess what.....as I'm driving around his subdivision I see the yellow ram. Great to see you Brian and glad I got to see your serg, great looking bike, I'm jealous for sure.

Speaking of "Road Dog," check this chit out.  This tag was taped to the inside of each side cover on the SERG.  Were these things originally supposed to be called Road Dog's or something? :nixweiss:

Name and a CVOHarley riding buddy not too horribly far from home.  Good to see you Roy, and again, Brian, sounds like you do have a wonderful dilemma, deciding which Eagle to ride.   ;)

Congrats, that's a sweet scoot no doubt!!!!!!!!! Beautiful color. You know I've learned a lot from this site & one lesson I'm starting to realize is it's not a sin to have more than 1 bike (if you don't believe me just ask Chip LOL).Great color combo, hope it works well for ya. BTW good luck on leaving it stock, that's what I've said on my last 3 bikes. No luck for me, maybe you have more willpower.

Not the Brian I know. He's going to go thru all the stages of fighting OCD....

Stage 1 - "I'm going to leave it stock"

Stage 2 - "I'm going to try to leave it stock"

Stage 3 - "I'm only going to add ____"

Stage 4 - "I'm almost done"

Stage 5 - "I need help for my OCD"

Stage 6 - "I don't need any help I love it, and I'm planning on adding ____ soon"

I called my bookie in Vegas to see what the odds were that Brian would leave it stock.

Miker,

There is one, or there was last weekend, at Killer Creek H-D in Roswell, GA.  It has been there for quite some time so maybe you could get a deal.  I had no idea Brian had been looking for one until I saw this thread.  I really know nothing about the bike other than it looks nice from a distance.  I've been afraid to get too close to it.  ;)

I ran across that one when I was trying to get an idea of what these things were worth before I bought mine.  Aren't they wanting like $18,500 for it? :o  Is that the one that has whitewalls on it, too.  Would need $400 worth of tires right off the bat.

OK, how 'bout some post-detailing photos?  I am super-pleased with how well this bike is cleaning up.  The bike still needs another coat or two of Glare to get rid of some of the imperfections in the paint and I'm still not done with the wheels, but it's looking mmmmuch better than a week ago.

I took the afternoon off and went for a little scoot.  The more I ride this bike, the more I like it.  Stopped at the park on the way home and took a few photos.  Enjoy!

B B, thanks for the kind remarks!  I stuck a letter in the mail to MoCo Customer Service today to try to find out the production figures.  (Also asked about '04 SEEGs.)  I'll post whatever response I get.  I, too, have heard the 750 number for the B/O with the total production per Harley's website saying 1550 for the '00 SERGs.  We'll see what the official response is. :nixweiss:

Brian,
Have you ridden the SERG long enough on any one run yet to have an idea how the seat is going to be?

Don, I ran 122 miles yesterday with one stop.  Not a huge distance, but long enough to figure out I'm not squirming around near as much as I do with the SEEG.  I think it's gonna be fine.  I am running the backrest on this bike since there is not as large a bucket with this seat as there is with the Comfort Stitch seat that I have on the SEEG, and it seems to help quite a bit with the comfort factor.

I am really enjoying this bike.  The fixed fairing is a bit warmer to ride behind than the SEEGs with the Kuryakyn Dragon Wings, so I can see why the lowers were off when I looked at the bike, but it's really a sweet machine to roll some miles on.

That's gotta be one of the nicest looking bikes they ever built! It looks great w/o the TP. That's how I'd leave it until I needed the TP for a trip. Agree with you about the seat. One other suggestion. Sans TP, it needs a laydown licence plate too! ;)

We'll see just how much I end up riding it without the tour-pak before I start investigating seats.  Just so used to having the "storage box" back there with the SEEG and all. :nixweiss:  Although, I just took it for a spin to heat it up before I changed the oil in it, and it does handle/run better without the extra weight out back.

As far as the detailing TC and miker, if you think it looks good in the photos, you should see it in person.  It now looks like a bike that I would own.  I can't believe how well it cleaned up. :nixweiss:  The paint, especially the orange, was really dead looking with almost no gloss and a lot of what I thought were scratches and nicks were just dried on bug guts!  I don't think the bike had ever had a good detailing, maybe in it's whole life. :confused5:

I did make the mistake of taking the 35 higher HP & TQ SEEG out just before hopping on the SERG today, though. ??? :-\ :nervous: :zwtf:

A growed up man should know better than to do something like that    :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Then, once you do the AK-20's and Bitubo's, you will NOT be able to live without them on the Glide.  Better start saving now...I'll bet Max would give you a discount if you trailered two bikes down to Hot'Lanta... ;D :2vrolijk_21:

Terry, that's my problem . . . . I've never grown up. :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2:

The SERG has air FRONT suspension, too, so it really needs some help in the suspension department. :huepfenlol2:  Chit, what have I done?!? :nixweiss:  :confused5: :huepfenlol2:

You'll never be able to live with having one bike with the great suspension and leaving the other one alone...I could not stand it, even on the Vrod.

It's a safety thing... ;D :huepfenlol2: :2vrolijk_21:

Actually, she knows pretty much everything with a bar and shield on it is off-limits.  Except, of course, unless it is PINK and has a bar and shield, and then she can wear it, play with it, do whatever she wants! :2vrolijk_21:
