And the bike in front of Echo Lake...not sure if that is evans in the background...

We saw some beautiful country today...2lane and I saw one road FOUR times...but then got back and road a nice swervy way along a river before re-joining Bret and the REAL group.  Saw the damage from the 2002 fire and the new growth that is just starting to fill in.

The locals: Bret&Nikki, Jay and Scott real deserve a great round of applause...they truly presented the best of Colorado for us CVOwners.

Great pics!  I noticed in one of these pics the GPS.  I was wondering how you mounted it, and I think it's the HD Road Quest...right?  Reason I ask is that I mounted mine and the damn thing fell off.  Fortunately I was able to plead my case to Garmin and they replaced it.  The design of the HD mount is extremely poor, and any bump makes the thing fall off.  I ended up putting a screw through the slide part to keep it from coming off, but when I noticed your pic, I was wondering if this was a handlebar mount or what, since it's on the left.  Any info would be appreciated.  Looks like a great ride.

Beautiful pictures Dude. If anyone looking at these doesn't wish they were with you, they should sell their motorcycle. Thanks for sharing the ride with all of us stuck behind a computer dreaming. As for Jock, two women and a truck full of Red Bull - - - - - - - - - -  ahhhhhhhhh to be young again.

bgregston,  Beautiful pics!   Wish I could have been there.  Noticed you have a Zippers a/c....caution if you are running the SE cover on top of it.  My  Zippers filter broke where the bolt goes into the metal top of the filter.  Nothing like a 70mph slide on the road to scuff up your new SE a/c cover!!   They say they will cover replacement, but it's been a few weeks and no info yet.  Have a safe trip home!

We're just starting to sort through the pics but here's one coming into the summit of Loveland Pass that I liked.

Bret & Niki put a LOT of hard work and time into the planning and execution of the rides... thanks for all you did. Now,.... get some well deserved rest.  [smiley=sleeping.gif]

Also to start the day we had a new forest fire that started up just outside of Cripple Creek. A little later I had to almost stop the pack to let Smokey the Bear cross the road. Nikki missed that shot though.

Some final thoughts…

I will like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for what I deem to be a very successful Rally In The Rockies!  While there are a number of folks to recognize, every one's contribution made it worthy of a top shelf event.

Thanks to Naitram for developing and maintaining the site where it all begins...

Thanks to JCZ for getting this organized…

Thanks to Brett, Niki, her daughter and friend, Jay, Barbara and Scott, our local hosts…A very special thanks to Brett and Niki for going over the top…Our friends to the North have their hands full to measure up to the new standard for a rally.

Thanks to JCZ, AK, Jonga and his sister for allowing me to tag along…a memory for a lifetime.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone at the Rally and along the way.

One of the problems I will deal with now is…how many days until Maggie Valley?

That's easy Spyder.  In the group pic for the folks heading out to take the long ride I'm standing next to the person taking that picture taking a picture of my own.  Was doing it so later everyone's name could be attached.  I just ain't quite got all the names attached yet.  In the Continental Divide photo I'm in the idiot in the middle taking a picture of the person who is taking the picture  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

Always have been a bit backwards, but it was from the perspective of those listening from the back of the group.

Bret totally set the standard for the next events, awesome job. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

We lost at least two riders between the first group picture and the second. One rider broke an air cleaner lid bolt and was holding it on with his knee and cuthbertss escorted him to the Colorado Springs dealership.

That was Jon (Jonga) with the air cleaner gymnastics.  But it happened during the second day (long day) run.  Everyone started getting word of the problem around Breckenridge.
