Are you sure you would want it back?

Bigchuck that answer would be yes if I can track it within lets say 1 day. That bike is my kid and would end up real bad for the person who stole it. I can see your side though.

I understand completely. I'm the same way. Also good luck trying to replace it for what the insurance pays out. For what we pay for these bikes they should come with a tracker. But HD is busy cutting back on original equipment, 1fob, no heel shift lever, no owners manual, no free gps updates. Pay more get less. I like your idea, protect what you have.

I use the FIN, "Find It Now". Dealer installed in a hidden location on the bike. battery back up, low battery level alarm for the main bike battery. you can set up a lot of alarm points, speed monitoring etc etc. sends email and text message. It is sensitive. a strong wind shaking the bike or loud exhaust will set it off in the shop. If you get one don't forget to turn it off if you take it in for service as it will be going off all day every time the bike is wiggled "ask me how I know", hahahaha. Some insurance companies will give you a discount if you have one. but good ol Va only recognizes  Lo Jak which doesn't offer a system for motorcycles anymore.

Just thought I would throw my $0.20 worth hear and hope it may help someone

I supply & Install GPS Tracking units here in Australia and I can tell you this like everything in life you get what you pay for.

first this in purchasing a unit for a bike I would ensure that its totally waterproof yes I know some people don't ride in the rain others don't wash there bikes I have heard all sorts of stories but most waterproof units have a good sturdy case and the circuit board is securely mounted inside.

A decent unit will have many options available with it the most common asked for functions are as follows

Harsh Braking
Harsh Cornering
Harsh Acceleration
Power Loss
Power Low
Exceeding Pre-set Speed Limits

Other options are
SOS Alert
Vehicle Tow Alert

If you want to play more you can have remote engine shutdown / Ignition Immobilisation, Service Reminders the list goes on

hope that helps some of you that are considering tracking the bikes & if you have any question I will ty my best to answer
