Title: FXDWG2 specific parts
Post by: MikeD on January 18, 2013, 08:16:11 AM
Can anyone still order previously made parts for the FXDWG2/3 parts if they find the part number?  I'm looking for the matching sissy bar pad in tan ostrich.  Also, A brochure on the FXDWG2 if possible.

Still love my Switchblade. Just that it's been sitting under the cover in a 20 degree garage for the past few months. I could get you a high quality scan of the brochure and think I may have an extra tan mini backrest if I recall correctly. Give me some time to check as it would be in the aforementioned garage behind the bikes.

Yeh - no body notices the old FXDWG2 anymore.

It draws a crowd EVERY time I am at the dealer ... including staff!

Along with some of the later FXRs - this one is a beautiful bike.  :2vrolijk_21:

The FXDWG2 is still the sexest bike the MOCO ever produced. IMHO, Its the nicest bike in my collection and I think I have a pretty nice collection.

CH & 2timin;
 The Red FXDWG2, Draws Crowds EVERYWHERE! even amongst the high $$$$ customs. because it is not only, The Sexiest Bike Ever Produced by the MoCo, it is argueably the Sexiest Mororcycle Ever Produced by Anyone :pepper:

  With the high compression 103 6sp, 6sumpthing cams(I forget what the exact #s
are, but they were the ones at the bottom of the page) and the V&H Shorty Duals, it Runs and Sounds as Sexy as it Looks :pepper:

You know the poster is true :pepper:

I wish I had mine back - I saw this at the York open house 2001 and came home and told the dealer I had to have one. It always drew high praise and was a fun bike to ride. Made one trip to Sturgis and decided to trade for a 2002 FLHRSEI - Loved that one too - 80k in 4 years.

Hey ALL,
I just joined this forum today.
I bought an '01 FXDWG2 in October of 2000 (The day of my retirement party from Sheriffs Office), then stupidly traded it for a 100th Anniversary Ultra in '03 because my ridin' buddy's were all gonna' ride to California from South Florida and I could not afford (at the time) two motorcycles...I HAD TOO MANY BOATS!....The ride never happened. I missed Scarlet soooooo much all these years. It was my very first Harley (owning an H-D had been on my bucket list the whole time I was a Deputy). I sold the Ultra a year ago. I've been searching for JUST THE RIGHT REPLACEMENT FOR MY FXDWG2 for 5 years. I found one quite by accident three weeks ago with very low mileage in LIKE NEW CONDITION with very LOW MILEAGE. I Bought it on 2/26/2013. I replaced the tires (Don't trust 13 year old tires, no matter how "NEW" they look) and put 140's on it...Changed ALL the fluids, rebuilt the carb...THEN Rebuilt both calipers and both master cylinders today (brake fluid is NOT BRAKE FLUID anymore after 12 years...I found out the hard way). Took her out for a ride about an hour ago. Rides like a new one...Looks like a new one. SHE DREW A SMALL CROWD AT BOTH H-D DEALERSHIPS I WENT TO (It's Bike Week here in Florida...). Some of the riders had no idea what it was, but they wanted one. Some actually thought it was a 2013 at first, and then noticed the carb...

My Dream Bike is now home. I have to agree that it is the sexiest motorcycle on the planet.

I'm in heaven...again.
