Mustache Crash Bar
« on: March 21, 2010, 09:27:15 AM »

Hey everybody, in regards to this wonderful Wheel we all own, hope to own and love does anyone know if there is a replacement part # for the rubber pads, foot rests on the Mustache Crash Bar.  At some point they are gonna start to wear down and start to look....um you know.

I only have 1,000 miles on and I added regular pegs on the bar but I think having more options on long rides will be good.

I've tried them, but it is pretty uncomfortable wrapping my knees around the tank.  When my wife demands floorboards I'll move the pegs up to the bars.  I do think the mustache bars are more stylish than the regular bars, but not much more useful.

Exactly what I did and it is much more comfortable with my legs pointing out and not in (around the tank).

Mine was on for just a couple of weeks.  And it's for sale.

At 6'4" my knees would be in my teeth if I put my feet up on that mustache bar. :nervous:

I replaced mine with standard guard and highway pegs.  Never liked the looks and found it uncomfortable.

I take back my post.  I've been using mine more and more.  I like my feet on the floorboards and leaning back into my wife, but when my legs start getting stiff I can throw them up on the mustache bars for a rest.  My last bike I used the highway pegs a lot, but this bike I'm liking the setup.

It's strange, I've always had highway pegs and for some reason the fit of this bike works for me with the current set up.  I just sit different on this bike than I did on my 07.

At the same height I can use the mustache-bar foot rests.... but just barely.  I put the long adapters with the passenger pegs and have a very comfortable change of foot position now.
