Seat bumpers on the SESG
« on: April 19, 2010, 12:09:19 PM »

is it me or do the bumpers, being almost an inch thick, rise you in the saddle? It feels so weird i am going to take em off and see if there is a difference. i dont care if it pulls from the console as I have a C&C seat coming in a few weeks. these bumpers are HUGE!

I've got a new seat coming soon from C&C as well and according to Chuck, you will have to take those seat bumbers off if you want your C&C seat to fit.

I love Harley but sometimes...I'm just sayin ::)

What is the deal with the C & C seats?  Are they that comfortable?  Seems like a lot of you are getting them.  I just started to get seat gap on mine at 350 miles.  Unbelieveable you can just pull the console wires out if you wanted to.  Looking forward to pics if you guys could.  Will the C & C lower your seat height any?  Does it take care of the seat gap?

well, C&C are custom seats, in the arena of Corbin and LaPera. C&C is by far the most affordable. JC paid I believe 1200 bucks for his Corbin.

heres the link  http://ccseats.com/roadking.htm

The Moco seat sucks in my pinion. light and flimsy. I could believe the Seats at C&C, built like tanks

check em out...........

Seat bumpers are Harley Davidson's inept way of solving a problem that they new about before the bike ever left the plant >:(  It's amazing to me that no one has crashed their bike yet due to the seat coming loose from the frame.

H-D will soon be trying to tell folks who don't fall for the bumper BS that the seat coming loose from the tongue in front is a planned feature.  No longer do you have to remove a bolt and remove your seat for access to the battery, you can just pop it off the tongue and swing it to either side using the bolt as a pivot.  That's even better than a hinged seat that only flips up to one side.  In fact, they may increase the price of the bike to reflect the value of this feature.  After all, they've gotten away with charging us to fix their crap for a lot of years now.
