SEEG Accessory Wiring
« on: September 14, 2018, 07:35:17 PM »

2005 SEEG.  For the accessory switch on the dash, where is the wire/plug located that is controlled by this switch?

Thanks.

It’s under the seat (in front of the battery) it has a rubber plug in it...you’ll need duetch (sp?) connector. I have mine connected to my gps.

So, another question.  Found the plug and I assumed that the accessory switch on the dash "powered" the accessory plug.  Bought the adaptor plugged it in and no power to the adaptor.  Checked the wiring and it was incorrect.  Changed the wiring (in the plug) and now have constant power to the adaptor.  It seems the accessory switch (on the dash) has no control over the accessory plug despite how it is wired.  Either no power at all on constant "on".

Thinking about just wiring directly into the accessory switch on the dash.  Ideas??

It’s been a while but if I remember correctly, there are 3 wires (or contacts) in that plug. One is constant power, one is switched power, one is a ground.  Get a multimeter and have someone toggle that switch on the dash while you probe the contacts to figure out which one is switched power

Now that I think about it, there may be 4 wires: constant power, switched power and a ground for each...also, don’t forget to check the fuse for that plug

4 wires.  One black (ground) and three others.  Tried all three and could not find one that worked with the dash mounted switch.  The only one that had power had it all the time regardless of the dash switch.   :-\

Hmmm, wonder if the wire is cut?

Possible but not probable.  Accessory tap is new and has continuity.  Using an '03 manual (wiring diagram) for an '05.  Wires are different colors so it will be hard to trace back.  Gonna look at wiring directly to the switch in the dash.  That's where I will need the power anyway.

The plug has four wires. If my memory is correct...... Running lights (blue), brake lights (red), ground (black), and switched acc (orange)power form the dash switch.

Thanks.  Not at home now but those colors don't sound familiar.  I'll take a look tomorrow and give it one more try.
