Windshield for FLSTSE
« on: March 17, 2010, 09:36:35 AM »

Has anyone found a replacement windshield for the FLSTSE yet? With the bugs in Arizona I need something taller without major modifications? Anybody?  :nixweiss:

Trent;

I was stationed at Luke AFB from 68 thru 70, and boy do I remember the bugs riding from Glendale to the base on my bike.

To get to your question, this is a very common issue with the FLSTSE. I looks for the most part (see other threads) that people are going with the HD Fat Boy  (PN 58278-95) I too will go this way.

Check out the other post.

Thanks everyone for the great help on the windshield.   ;D  I will go to Harley this weekend and will undoubtably go with the fatboy concept also. I will post pics also along with the 300 led's that light the motor!

I went and got the HD 57141-05 Nostalgic full size windshield.  8) It was right at $400.00, however, now I have something that will block the wind a bit better. The one thing I like more about this one other than the Fatboy concept is the chrome bar doesn't go all the way across. Rather, it is U shaped. Still wish the Cee Bailey would have been a viable option!  :-\

Is there anyone else that went to the Cee Bailey windshield?  I still have a hard time getting past not using my fairing!   :-\

Try try Cee Bailey.  I bought one and it is good.  Don't buy the tallest.  It looks bad and is too tall

What size is recommended to get rid of all the buffeting? With a Cee Baily replacement shield...

If its coming from the sides or from under the shield will the height really fix anything?

I also would like to have the option of keeping my look, but dont want to buy the sheild if it reall doesnt change anything...

Thanks

I bought a Cee Bailey 8" taller than stock and I don't like it.  It still lets too much air around. I'm sticking with the Harley one. I think the width makes a big difference.

His girlfriend told me that if he stopped playing with his bike so much width wouldn't matter.

I bought the 19" Jurock windshield.  I didn't want to give up on the HD fairing. Its an amazing difference.  It would be fun to ride an FLSTSE with the Fatboy windshield to feel the difference.   An advantage of the Fatboy windshield is you can change the headlight since the stock one is pitiful.
I'm still trying to find someone who has put a light-tree to fit with the stock fairing.

I ordered the HD Fatboy windshield (PN 58278-95) and it doesn't fit my 2010. The vertical holes on the windshield are 1.5" wider than the bike windshield mount.

I bought a used one on eBay and had to bend the brackets.  I don't think it fits out of the box.  Check other posts.  I think Porky said something about bending it also.

The Fay Boy windshield fit right on my 2010 CVO Convertible perfect.  :2vrolijk_21: With the chrome fork deflectors it is a great setup. I had a street glide and could not stop the buffeting no matter what I did.
