Title: Screamin Eagle Gloves
Post by: SPIDERMAN on August 30, 2006, 10:33:05 PM
All this talk of heated gear for Maggie Valley has me checkin out some heavier gloves. Tired of the old Hotfingers ski gloves as they are too damn thick.

Brian, strictly one guy's opinion here but for anything above 50 degrees or so I love these:

http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb.nsf/Products/D8E73E309560C80086257126005D760F?opendocument

Really really flexible, leather in the palm that doesn't bunch up, work in the rain, good length gauntlets, just an all around really great glove for cool to warm weather.

Brian...check these out too....I have a pair of the Deertours and love them.  Best glove of any type I've owned.

TC, got my eyes on these babys. Was wondering if when they get wet does your hands turn black from the dye? I was considering yours in Tan, or these in 2tone. http://www.foxcreekleather.com/128.html

OK call me stupid. Is it just for the print ad, or are the tan ones tan on the palms and black on the back ?

Brian...it's mostly just to show the features on the palm of the glove, though I think they are available like that if you like the look.

JR...I've never had any of the dye come off on my hand, and I've been wearing these(the deertours) for 5 months now, and I mean every single time I get on the bike.  They never get stiff, have extra padding in the places you need it, and to me are not hot at all.  Plus, the little leather strap with the velcro is very easy to use/adjust, and will keep the glove on your hand if you ever did go down.  There's a few "testimonials" on the site, and a pretty good description of the "secrets" of deerskin.  I'm lookin' at the PCI version for the extreme winter months.

The things aren't cheap, but it looks to me like they will last a number of years.  Fox Creek Leather is absolutely the best leather goods you will ever find...period.  I liked my jacket/gloves so much, I orderd a vest and a pair of chaps...thick, but supple leather.  Don't forget to ask for Chippy and get 10 bucks off your order...just tell her you're a member of the CVO site.

Oh...one other advantage is that you still have enough dexterity with them on to "feel" things, get stuff out of your pockets, etc.

A lot of gloves out there are not stitched well enough to hold up under stress, but these will.  The guy who designed them is Lee Parks...most people have heard of him.

Suzanne has a pair of the lined riders gloves and finds them very comfy as well, for those cooler times.

Hey Bro! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

When I was looking at the different gloves I noticed some had color options. I also noticed some say Tan, Black, and I have seen 2Tone, so I believe you can get any of the three depending on style of glove!

What do you think about these gloves? I like em, just need to decide which ones! ;) See Ya, God Bless!

I tried a pair of these on a couple weeks ago, felt good, but didn't like the looks of knuckle protection or the consruction on the gauntlet. But when I saw that orange I thought of only one person that would love it and Yes that was you d00d! ;D I also believe it is a match made in heaven for your jacket! I was checking out the first gear gloves Don has and did a search to check out best prices and came across these Tour Master ColdTex Motorcycle Gloves. Read the review from April 2002 issue of Motorcycle Cruiser magazine. Gotta give these gloves a shot, for $26.95 it's worth a try! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

JR, you can never tell for sure about this stuff from just pictures.  From just the pictures, however, they look a little bulky.  Of course it says they are COLD weather gloves so that's to be expected some.  That's one of the things I really like about the new electrics I got last winter. Waited for the new Gerbing glove that wasn't as big and bulky as the one they'd had out for so long.  Quite comfortable and not at all bulky.  Surprising dexterity for a cold weather glove.  While I hate cold hands I'll gladly put up with cool hands to keep a better and more comfortable grip.

Thanks Don, last year we took a few scoots when it was in the 20's. I got the FXRG leathers thanks to harley visa points and the only part that got cold were my hands. Thank God for the Sunray heated seat, I would take turns sitting on hands until they got warm. ;D

Thanks to all for the suggestions. HOWEVER, As d00d pointed out, the Screamin Eagle gloves will color co-ordinate with my new RG so very well.

They also match my H-D Torque leather and both of my cloth Screamin Eagle jackets along with four of my Screamin Eagle button front shirts and three of my Screamin Eagle T-shirts.

Did I mention I have an obsession with all things Screamin Eagle ?

I do I do I do  [smiley=help.gif]

JC, no two sets of hands are gonna be the same.  But FWIW I pulled on a pair today and they were pretty darned comfortable.  Didn't bunch up in the palm.  Flexed in all the right places.  Really seemed like a pretty good pair of gloves.  I didn't need any so was just guinea pigging them; but they weren't bad at all.

I figure sure they will. My H-D Torque leather jacket makes me go faster cause it makes me skinnier and you know what the drag racers say - - - - every ten pounds is a tenth of a second

Now I know I won't even try to keep up with the HBRR, but I figure when I get lost, all the flash and bling will make
it easier to find me

Well I'd say after MV that the consensus is that the Screamin Eagle gloves are fashionable, but provide no warmth below 55 degrees ( didn't someone say that earlier in the thread ? ) I ended up stopping in Amarillo and buying a pair of H-D Gore-tex lined gloves that kept me toasty except for the blast out of MV on Sunday with the temp around 27. Jorge had all electric everything and actually seemed like he was a little warm when I finally got him to stop 130 miles later. Dude was starting his bike up rarin to go before I could even suck down a cup of hot coffee. Not sure when I'll be doing an anything goes weather wise cross country trip again, but I'm gonna be looking at the electric vest/gloves deal for sure.

Just to let ya know that I just bought a pair of gloves FoxCreek Leathers here ids the link to the site http://www.foxcreekleather.com/127.html I got the Deerskin Lined Gauntlets $39 and I love em. Now I don't own a SE Bike Im riding a 05 FLHRI Std and I just like to read your forum. Anyways I was also looking at the HD Screamin Eagle glove but for the money the only thing that was "Screamin" was my wallet as the price of those gloves almost $100 so I looked around and found from some riders that the Fox Creek Leathers were excellent and worth every penny. I ordered the Deerskin Lined Gauntlets and said what the hell $39 free shipping I got em and was blown away by the quality of them, didn't get a chance to use them as the weather has been nothing but rain, and I also ordered Lg and I should have gotten XLG so I sold the Lg to a buddy who wanted them after I said I was sending em back he bought em right there from me. Fast foward to this weekend the XLG Gloves came Fri and I wore em today 41 degrees today high winds and man they kept my hands toasty worth every penny I know where Im getting my next summer gloves, Im sure
