Rear tire choices/How may miles did you get on yours?

5300 miles and my rear tire is completely worn out.Is this all you can get out the stock tire? I would like to get something that lasts a lot longer than that.

17505km both tyres originals, wont ride much now its winter, still have minimum 4mm tread all over.
 will replace in spring as i^m gonna do a 5000km run.

I've got 5400mi on mine, and the rear tire still looks great!

If you ride it like your supposed to you will only get 5k out of a back tire, just ask HOIST!

I am going to assume that the rear tire on the cruiser models is different than the bagger models due to load ratings etc. Also, given the "sportbike" (I use that term loosely) aspect of the Screamin Eagle Springer I would expect that the compound of the rubber is much softer "stickier" if you will so of course it's going to wear out quicker. And lastly of course what Hoist and others are saying is riding style. Aggressive riding burns up the tire much faster. All things considered, if you spend $150 every 5,000 miles for a new rear tire it's costing you less than 3 cents a mile for ? in pleasure ?   Like the credit card commercial - - - - - Priceless !

Here's the thing. I am an aggressive rider,but I have done zero burn outs.I do think I am pretty hard in the corners,and powering out of the corners,but that's not where the tire is worn.The tire is at the warning bar in the center and that is highway miles.Maybe I power up a little hard,but that shouldn't wear the tire like this. :o

I'm not sure. I got an average of 8,000 miles on a TC 88 engine. I'm getting 5,000 miles on a 120 engine. I'm seeing a trend here.

The HP is converted to friction thru the tire. That's how ya get power to the ground. The more HP you impose on the rear wheel, the more friction is created. And the faster you go, the more HP that's required, the more friction created. Like I said, nutrhin for nuthin!!! The guys that never push more than 50 hp out of their bikes because they always take it easy will have longer lasting tires than the guys like me that like to ride WFO as much as possible!!! ;)
