I am thinking about sending my stock seat to have a gel insert installed. I have a 2019 serg and the seat is horrible after about a half hour. Anyone know of some I can contact to see if this can be done?? I like the look. Just hate the ride. Thanks. Stuart.

This guy is in my neck of the woods and does good work; https://www.richscustomseats.com/
I'm sure there is someone closer to you that could enhance your stock seat for $4 or $500.00 but I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading to a Corbin Solo. I was too cheap to go there for years but after reading dozens of stories I finally bit the bullet and will never return to Rich's or Danny Gray or any of the others. I believe they have a shop right there in Florida also.

Personal experience here.
I’ve had gel in my last 3 seats and here is my take. Gel is excellent when the weather conditions are ideal. But park it outside on a hot sunny day, and when you come back from lunch the seat might fry your eggs. The gel holds heat. Leave it outside overnight in the winter and the gel becomes like blue ice and holds the cold. You might freeze your eggs. Riding across the desert floor the heat from the rear pipe warmed up the gel enough to make it uncomfortable. On my last seat I ended up throwing a sheepskin pelt on it. On my current seat I use a Bead Rider seat cover.
That’s my experience, yours may vary.

Can't wait to see what that will add to the price...

Corbin's store in Daytona Beach on US1 heading out towards the H-D dealership.

Master Lugo has worked on several of my bike seats. Professional work, he gives good advice as to what is needed vs what I might think was needed, and his stitching, etc. matches HD stock seats exactly. Very pleased with all his work & the seats all gave better service than stock.

Another recommendation for Lugo. Has worked on seats for me twice. Seats and some other upholstered parts actually. Good guy and really good work.

I have used the corbin solo with great success on other bikes.
You are correct on then stock seat on the 19 CVO RG. You really know it when you do a 600 mile day on it. Not found a solution I like yet. Love the looks of the seat.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the info. I'll try to get a quote from Lugo's. Gotta do something. Thanks again. Stuart.

Be prepared for the slippery slope of options Stu. Reaching out to Lugos can bite you in the butt that way. He can do the physical/structural/comfortable and he can do all the fancy/cosmetic you might want also. He's who did the work on my Road King's saddle and tour pak rack side covers.

I have real issues with "monkey butt" as I generally ride long distance on the weekends and as my family would say I dont have a butt, just a crack in my back... I have tried many different brands and of course different butts liker different seats.. I tried a Corbin and for me it was horrible, way to hard. I even took it to a custom seat guy that put a gel pad in which helped but like Ironhorse said on inclement weather the gel has its own issues. Found the Danny Grey Air Hawk seat with the built in air hawk and even had them add a gel pad underneath the air hawk and that was the ticket for me. Have that seat now on both my bikes.
Just another option for you..

Have you considered using a gel topper? It's a gel pad sealed in fabric that comes with straps and you just lay it over the seat. This might give you a better idea of it's the solution to your issue, without having to have the seat worked on.

You might consider the air hawk which is an air bladder cushion over a gel pad- ROHO makes these for people who are wheel chair bound and are made for all day sitting. You can add a little air or a lot of air to meet your comfort level. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201130/c92b647c8ae4df22b7fc70f6891eddb2.jpg)

Corbin in Florida is in Ormond Beach in a strip plaza on the right going north between the Ormond Strip and Destination Daytona. Appears to be just a retail store/warehouse, I saw no production going on there. Been in there a few times, tried the loaner seats and they are so hard and out of date on foam technology that I was not interested. I made foam for a living for 12 years, Corbin is still in last century. They are big on telling you it has to break-in. Foam doesn't "Break-In", it Does break down and compress, when it structurally fails. I did like the last Danny Gray I had on prior bike with the inflateable Air-Hawk insert but
Luckily I like my Hammock Seat i have now as is.

Hey Don. I have the Harley Hammock seat on my 16 cvo rg ultra. I love that seat. I would buy one for the mako but it would look pretty goofy sitting on there. Maybe not so bad if I left the tour pack on. But I agree. That is a really comfy seat. Stuart.

I put the Hammock seat from Harley on my 06 back in 08 I believe and never looked back !
I believe in comfort and function over looks. I buy bikes to ride not looks! I'm thinking of buying one
for my current Street Glide Special too. Just my 2 cents!

I know I won't be happy until I do that. I gave Mean City Cycles a call yesterday. They won't touch a cvo seat. I was thinking about adding memory foam. I asked. But they said no. :o
