2007 FXDSE Windshield clamp

I purchased the Harley windshield kit that was supposed to fit my bike however the clamps seem to be too small. They are 49mm clamps which I thought were correct for the inverted forks on my bike however it wasn’t a case of being too tight I found when I broke one trying to close it. I have not seen larger clamps available and everything I’ve seen point to mine being 49mm.

Does anyone have experience with this model and quick release clamps?
