Title: Compensator knock
Post by: CT on July 06, 2018, 12:55:11 PM
2016 FLHXSE. My normal cruising RPM is between 3500 and 3800. In the past 2 months there is a knock coming from the primary area. (at least that where it seems to be). This noise only occurs at 3500 or higher RPM. Harley has looked at it and even took the primary apart to inspect and said all is good. Its really annoying noise. Bad Compensator?

There are 20,000 miles on the bike and the engine had to be replaced at 16,000 as it blew a lifter.
