I have been looking for a nice license plate frame that would fit the SG CVO. I have called both Yaffe and Kury and they say that they do not know if theirs will fit. I think that the '14 CVO rear fender is the same as the '15, but I am not sure. Does anyone know if there is a license frame that will look good? Will the Yaffe filt the '15? I do not want to drill fender. Did that on my 09 and wasn't thrilled doing it. Thanks

The Kury works on the 2015. I aready put one on the wife new bike. No different than the previous years.

excellent and I presume that it is on a CVO per your sig line. I called Kury again today and they didn't know if it fit on a 14 or 15. Thanks much.
-
The Yaffe works fine
-
So on the 15 what do you do with the license plate light, you know the black thing stuck above the license? Any holes left over if you take it off? Thanks. Spook
-
The only thing different is those hideous rear tail lamps. They yaffee would work and is the cleanest IMO.
-
The license plate lights are LEDs built into the sides. Can't see them unless lit up. The plate covers all holes, it looks very clean.
-
Thanks guys. I agree that the Yaffee looks best.
-
Any drilling required with the Yaffee?

Yaffe plate will fit. took my plate off my 2011 CVO when i traded it in and put in on my 15 and it looks sick!!!
-
My bike won't be in till the middle of November and I want to change the plate holder out right away.
Which Yaffe chrome one did you order? The web site shows stealth 3 and stealth 3 cvo universal.
Is the plug the same?
-
Same plug and play. Universal cvo application stealth 3
-
Joker,
I also live in NY, did you have to modify the plate at all to make it fit?
-
No I took the plate off my 2011 street glide (black diamond with Crimson). And put it right on the new one with no problems. the plate was offset a little so I drilled the fastner not the fender where the screws line up. The plate fit perfect!!!! I'm going to take it off and paint it the same color of the bike

No problem brother be safe!!!

removed that big black wart off of Silvia's a$$ :)
The Yaffe looks great just got done installing it, but on a scale of 1-10 for being a frickin Pain In The A$$ to install this bitch gets an 11 :huepfenlol2:
you have to remove the oem inner support which is fastened with double stick tape and drill out the tapped hole to allow for the new bolts, you have to cut the wires on the supplied plug and reverse them to get the led's to work, and you have to either cut the corner of your plate or feed the newly spliced wires through the top right license plate hole so you don't pinch the wires when you sandwich it all together and screw in the 10 tiny little fricken screws that hold it all together, don't plan on taking that off any time soon, time for a BEER :drink: or two :drink: :drink: or three :drink: :drink: :drink:
-
Pia to install for sure. My left led light burned out already after about 15 months.

Looks Great Brother !!!

I just installed the Universal Yaffe frame on mine as well. I second everything Eagle1 said. I am glad I remembered reading his post. I got mine installed and plugged in the connector and yep no LED lighting. Searched this thread hoping I remembered correctly that someone had to reverse the wiring. I also searched and found out how to pull out the pins in the connector and reverse them rather than cutting the wires. Posting so others can do the same. Just pry out the orange wedge from the end of the connector to expose the pins. Then use a small flat blade screw driver to pry up a little pin retainer inside the end of the connector while pulling on the wire. The wire will then pull out. Remove both and push them back in but swap locations.
-
I drilled out the threads in the rear fender and put longer bolts through and secured the frame. Reversed the wires and mines installed as well!!!

sure would have been nice if they told you how to do this in the instructions >:(

They would have no need to put that in the instructions since the web site says it does not fit 2014-2015 CVO models. So technically we are making it fit on our own. Just sayin.....

but they do note that the polarity could be different and that you might need to switch them so a little heads up on how to do that without having to cut the wires would have been nice
-
Didn't notice that....Didn't bother to read since it said it wouldn't fit.
-
Got mine, the wires were backwards and half the lights didn't work, they are sending a replacement strained. But installed it and looks great.
-
I am having trouble with my Yaffe stealthIII license plate bracket the left side LED chit the bed does anyone have any experience with this and how to fix it? It's over 2 years old so no warranty options.

Happy New Year (almost)
Have you called Yaffe?
I think they have a replacement strip of lights. Sometimes Paul answers the phone and may part with them for a reasonable price. I hope so.

Jerry

No I figured being out of warranty he wouldn't care. I'll see if I can locate a number.

Hey Jswerve.
You got me thinking about this since it sounds like I will likely have to deal with replacing mine when they go out. I looked to see if there was something small enough in a plazma light from Custom Dynamics or elsewhere. I think those would look cool lighting it up, but could not find anything small enough. I did find a small LED strip that you should be able to shorten to the 6 inches or so the frame needs. Here is a link you could take a look at. I suppose you could try to get one from Yaffe but they are hard as hell to get ahold of. The on at this link is less than $10, so not a big loss if it doesn't work.

Good luck.

Ready to order.... Looks like the Yaffe is the best looking of the choices. Install seems a pain but not overly difficult thanks to this forum! Best place to purchase Yaffe products?
Thanks!

-

Actually, I found it in a McDonalds drive thru, picked it up and put it on my antenna. Some time later, some one told me what it was, a shaker ball.
Good Eye.

Kury makes a lot of these....could you share their part number?
Thanks

Installed the Yaffe Stealth III today. Had to reverse the wiring, a bit of a pain to line up the bolts through the mounting bracket, fender, and p,ate cover. Attaching the sticker to the plate each year will be a chore. Loving the looks of it though!
-
So it seems that the popular vote is on the Yaffe, but I'm still wondering, does the Kury curved frame fit the 15 CVO street glide, or not??
-
The short answer is YES.
The part numbers are:
KURY Tag Bracket Back #3146 $49.99
KURY LED Frame #3144 $69.99
I have had and personally installed both over the yers on my CVO Street Glides.
The Kury is easier to install and easier to replace the hard tag.
The look is of course a personal thing.
Paul hasn't redesigned the small screws used to hold the backing plate and tag to the frame and I am not sure but the earlier versions had SOME issues with the LED strip that lights the tag. Yaffee wasn't help with a fix if they were out of warranty.
JSwerve can provide more accurate and first hand experience on the old and new Yaffee when he sees your post.

Thank you for your reply Jerry. Ironically, I had a chrome Kury on my '14 SG, that I was going to put on my new CVO, but decided I wanted black instead. So, I actually called Kuryakyn first before spending the money, and spoke to their "tech" advisor. He told me they didn't make one for the new '15 CVO streetglide yet, and that my chrome one wouldn't have fit anyway. I thanked him for saving me the money, and that was that.
So, when I started following this topic, I was obviously confused with some people saying that they think Kury will work. Anyone actually have it with a picture or two?? Does it just bolt on, because it didn't look like it would to me when I looked at it briefly. Pics and mounting info please, if anyone actually has just the basic Kury curved plate frame. Thank you!

FIRST-- The Kury that would work for a standard Street Glide is not the same as the one for the CVO Street Glide.
The parts numbers I gave you are the ones for a CVO. Go on the Kury site and you can print out the install instructions. Use the above part numbers.
BTW: Carefully consider the placement of your tag renewal sticker for either the Kury or Yaffee.

Haha the people that make these for Yaffee must be complete morons. 2 wires and they still screw it up. I had to reverse mine too. Brady at Yaffee is top notch though and I love the new led strip vs the old style. I don't mind pulling it off once a year for the tag takes about 20 mins and it's the best looking plate holder out there IMO.
